2003 ford escape 3.0L code PO353

I would think that many misfire codes would mean it runs terrible, coils go bad alot on the early ones,if it runs badly ,coils are suspect.
would say crank sensor if stiil runs ok,but the cam noise is not good,
lean or misfire won't make the cam noisy, something is broken in the valvetrain

Misfire po300 on 2.2L

Are you sure that the plug gap is correct? and did you use the recommended plug when you changed them? You might also try running a can of sea foam thru with a tank of fuel to make sure your injectors are not dirty. Also check your fuel pressure.

Po353

misfire is usually due to detonation and can be caused by the engine running to hot and poor spark plugs make sure the engine is running at normal operating temperature. Another cause could be bad valves, poor ignition timing, or to low a fuel octane. but most likely it is due to excessive engine heat.

For PO300 you need to change out the Fuel Leveling sensor and/or the fuel pump which are one in the same. If you do so,you will have your good old peppy - responsive and well tuned truck back! I've got an `02 of the same truck 5.3lit. That fixed me rite up!!! My codes were PO300 &PO463. Runs like it's NEW again! Really hope this helps!!!!!
