Sounds like a slight leak on the cylinder head gasket or timing gear seals. Remove the timing cover plate to give you a better view of the problem. If its something like the heads, then get a professional to do it. If its in the timing section, you can do it yourself with the help of a Hanes or Chiltons manual for your car. Check the oil pan. That one is common on camrys.

this is a very lengthy procedure.the best thing for you to do is go to your local part store and tell the clerk that you want to purchase a (chiltons book) for your toyota camry to chang a head gasket.this book is so well explained you should have no trouble doilng this job.

#4 cylinder on my 2.2L camry has no compression.


The head gasket might be bad around that cylinder, or the piston rings are worn and not holding the compression.

faulty injector,missed...or inlet gasket leak,(spray crc wd 40)around inlet where it joins to clyinder head if it gets smoother running its leaking,vacuum leak,eg;hose off thats not seen or missed

WOULD IT B EASIER 2 CHANGE HEAD GASKETS OR SWAP MOTORS


its easier to change head gaskets as long as the antifreeze did not hurt the barings in the engine. but if it took out a bearing you might as well switch engines
