Hi, did you replace the lifters or pushrods? The lifter is the part that usually causes tapping noise.

I have 89 old 88 delta. When driving it sounds like a real high humming noise from the passenger front end, when the weight is shifted to the drivers side it seems to go away until weight is put back on...

Wheel bearing. Sounds like the right front, but have the mechanic verify it first. A lot of bearings have been replaced for the opposite side that they thought was bad.

Engine not failed oil pressure good engine ticking think it is rod bearings how do you replace on 1997 chev Blazer

hold up rod bearings were did you get that?lets take it from the top.camshaft lobs move lifters on rotation, which lifters move push rods, push rods push valves up and down, which other side of valves push up and down valve stems, which open and close exhaust and intake stems.ok now were clear on that to see your push rods.take off your valve covers on side with tick.1.check for valve loosness.need a feeler gauge for this and specs for you truck to do this.because ticking is mostly associated with valve loosness or to tight.2.if rod is bad loosin valves but not off and inspect the rods for bends.on a flat surface.replace if bend.also make sure they to go back in same place.and repeat step 1.finally noise continues need to take in and checked possible internal damage.

I'm buying a 88 Iroc-z Camaro.. It has 97000. mi

That ticking is usually a loose rocker arm. Use a mechanic stethoscope and you will find which one needs adjusting or replacing. A push rod may be partially clogged and caused excessive wear. Older vehicles which have been in storage often have oil leaks and related. This happens if the vehicle has not been started on a regular basis. Nonuse causes seals and gasgets to dry and shrink so be aware and look for leaks.

Roller rocker meets valve stem tagging inside of spring

They make valve stem caps to raise the hight of the valve stem & stop the rocker from making contact with the spring retainer.Good luck,

88 ford ranger 2.9 low oil pressure

Possibly clearances "closing" at operating temparature? 20w50? Kinda heavy isn't it?Spun bearing - should make more noise than a "Tap"? I've heard several low and high mileage 2.9 engines "tap" but quits after warm up? That SEEMS to be somewhat common with the2.9 Sorry can't be more specific.
