Did you bleed the brakes after you replaced the 2 brake lines. Did you breed the brakes with or with out the power on.The right way to bleed brakes with abs is with thew power off. you will need a abs scan tool and re bleed the brakes

I have a 2011 528i , I just got my rear brakes and rotors and sensor done ,at mr. Tired, my brake light will not go out I been running between bmw and mr tired for resetting but it keeps saying unsusseful...

Did either one of them check the wiring? It would have to be checked for voltage and/or ground. Also check the resistance of the wire from the sensor plug to the ABS system, Also check the ABS module. To date I have never heard of any ABS system upgrades. On any vehicle. There are always upgrades to engines and transmissions.

My 2008 colt automatic has intermittent problem not going into reverse gear what is it ?

Keeping brake pedal down, move gear lever into drive, back to neutral and into reverse, give it a couple of seconds between movements. Last resort is to switch engine off and restart.

My sercurity light is on. indicated on my dashboard my car was last started 2 weeks ago what could the problem be.

Cluster warning lights

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS, TPMS, MIL, CEL and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Anti-lock brake system. TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module. TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor System, MIL Malfunction Indicator Lamp, CEL Check Engine Light.

3.9L 2000 dodge dakota abs and brake light on

What are we going to do with you Frank?

This technology has been around 31 years

When ever you get a check light on your dash, you
check for codes & resolve them first, before working
on other problems

Use internet explorer or goggle & put OBD2 & your
code # in.
You will be reading stuff for days

I don't have Dodge Diagnostic Info avail at this moment
& you did not give us the codes

You have to keep in mind there are PO Generic Codes
The ones a Code Reader can access
Then there are Manufacture Codes, which only Professional
Scan Tool Software can see,etc

Without Factory Diagnostic Manuals & you can buy them, as I do,
at Helm.Com your done, you need a repair shop

If you spend the big bucks it will be a steep & lifelong climb to
learn how to work on your own vehicle, but it can be done,I'm
in my 48th year & study every week,year round,sort of a hobby

Take the codes & go to manuals & their charts
Then component test the items your directed to
Codes do not tell you what is wrong
Codes do not tell you to replace anything

Most common ABS item would possibly be a Wheel
Speed Sensor, easy at home fix, unless you need to
change the entire Brg hub assy, that isn't too bad, if you
have some vehicle experience

It's the testing, that is what puts the brakes on everyone
Not many folks can use a volt meter or know how components
work.

How to get the abs light off

The ABS light only comes on and stays on when a problem like a failed part exists in the ABS system, the ABS control module senses this problem and it disables the ABS brakes and turns on the dash warning light, so right now you have regular brakes, no ABS. So what needs to be done? You must have the ABS control module scanned by the dealer to see what ABS fault codes are in its memory, then a trained technician will perform the necessary diagnostics and repair the system.

My toyota tacoma's abs light has been on for the last two weeks. I topped the brake fluid , what else can I do?

Wheel speed/abs sensors need to be checked as well as the ABS pump. Basically a repair facility can run a computer diagnostic routine to test the ABS system specifically. Taking your truck to an auto parts store for a quick scan with a code reader may provide a trouble code, but the ABS system is a sub system and has a seperate contoller.

I have a 200 Volvo s80. last week when my wife started it, all the lights came on... stc, brake failure, check engine light, brake light..they all are on and i cant seem to find the problem.. can someone...

I have a similar problem, I am going to assume that most of the lights have gone out and you are left with the check engine and a transmission service message. Check the OBD for the error codes and see what they say. If they are P0722, P1618, P1633 it is likely your ABS module. This module appears to have a life span of 5 years to 80,000 miles average before it needs to be replaced. Other symptoms of a bad module would be that the ABS light comes on while driving down the road. Than goes out on the next engine restart or two. Victor Rocha is reconditioning ABS modules for $125.00 and upgrading them to better than factory. There are instructions on the web of where and how to remove the ABS module. This is better than the dealer's new module for $995.00 plus installation.

depending on the system if it is 2 channel or 4 channel one of the sensors that are located on the backing plate located behind calipers is eithier faulty or dirty you can try brake cleaner these sensors use a small magnet pickup device to sense when the wheel "locks up"
