SOURCE: Sun visor on 2005 Nissan Murano won't stay up/falls down

I resolved this same problem on my 2004 Murano after also being told that it ($350 Visor) was not covered under my extended warranty. This problem is primarily caused by the heavier than normal visor. It cost me a total of $2.69 and about 30 minutes to fix.
To resolve this problem follow the following steps:

1) Go to the hardware store and purchase the Velcro package that contains (2) 18”, 1/2 inch strips (I chose the beige color since I have a tan interior) 2) Using a small screw driver, carefully pry off and remove the small cover that hides the mounting screws for the Driver’s visor. 3) Remove the 2 Phillips screws and drop the visor down slightly so that you can unplug the wires that go to the visor light and now remove the visor 4) Using the plastic velcro strip ONLY , (NOT the fuzzy strip), trim the end of the strip so that it will fit under the visor mount and also punch a small hole in that end of the strip so that one of the screws will go through it. (There is NO NEED to remove the adhesive backing from the Velcro strip)
5) Carefully mount the visor so that one of the mounting screws also goes through the Velcro strip 6) Be sure that the sticky side of the Velcro strip faces down or towards the visor
7) Once the visor is loosely mounted, pull the Velcro strip slightly and then tighten the 2 mounting screws securely. 8) Once mounted, hold the Velcro strip against the headliner and then raise the visor against the strip and the headliner and it SHOULD stick in place since it can’t drop down because one end of the Velcro strip is secured to the visor mount 9) Trim the exposed end of the velcro strip so that only 1 inch is exposed (or less) in case you need to lower the visor at a later time. (I removed a half inch of the backing and folded the exposed end on itself so that it's easy to grasp.) In this way you don’t have to glue anything to the headliner OR the visor.

(If your visor is a vinyl material, you will have to stick/glue the fuzzy velcro strip to the top side and/or edge of the visor so that there will be something for the plastic strip to stick to)

I hope this helps others…. It works for me! (and it sure beats $350!!)

SOURCE: Sun visors won't stay flipped up.

most of the times on the visors if you look at were it mounts on the car you will see a small screw this is a set screw and if you tighten it just a little bit it should hold your visor up for you. but not all vehicles have a set screw as iam talking about. and if the impala dosent you need to get a compleat new visor
hope this helps you out

SOURCE: sun visor replacement

You unscrew the two bolts and gently take the visor off the mount. There will be a wire attached that has a plastic male/female connection that can be pulled apart. Do this gently. The wire is the power connection for the vanity light located within the visor.

SOURCE: driver side sun visor falls down

If you have anything on top of the visor, remove it. If there are any screws visible near the pivot rod, tighten them. You can remove the visor and slightly bend the pivot rod, inside the visor. You can just buy a new one and replace it yourself. It's only a few screws.

How to remove a sun visor in a 2015 jeep cherokee

unclip the sun visor from the "latch" side. Using a flathead pocket screwdriver gently pry the plastic shroud away around the hinge side. This will expose the bolts for the sun visor. Remove the weatherstripping partially from around the door if equipped with grab handles gently pry the covers off the hinges with pocket screwdriver and remove bolts (t30) partially remove cover from clip for sun visor and remove bolt (t20). Pull firmly directly out on a-pillar to unseat from pillar. Unscrew the three bolts from sun visor hinge side and gently unseat from wiring guide. Reaching above headliner gently guide wires for sun visor down through headliner and detach from harness.

How do i replace the sunroof track on my 2001 jeep grand cherroke limited? the bracket that the air deflector attaches to is broken.

You have to remove the headliner. Remove all the door column bezels and rear bezels, both sides. Remove the sun visors. Remove any dome lights and look for screws. Most headliners have plastic buttons and Velcro that hold them in place. Start in one place and work your way around to release the headliner. Being extremely careful. Because if you pull down to hard, you will crack the headliner, leaving a nice crease. Once the headliner is out, You can get to the sun roof regulator and motor.

07 Equinox Leaking water at the front corners of the sun roof. usually during heavy rain, but also when going thru the car wash and the blowers come on to dry the water off.

check the adjustment of your sunroof, i work at a dealer and i just had a 2006 equinox in with the same exact problem, if you look at where the glass attaches to the sunroof rails you will see 2 torx screws on each side, with the sunroof closed, loosen the screws a little bit, don't remove them, push the glass up untill its level with the roof and the seal around the glass looks even all the way around where it contacts the roof sheet metal, then tighten down the screws while holding the glass in place. if it continues to leak, remove the sun visors and the clips for the sun visors, i believe they are either philips scres or torx, there will be 2 screws on the visor itself, and 1 for the clip. then remove the front pillar trim panel, you will see a small cover in the upper panel, use a pick or a sharp thin tool to pry the cover off and remove the 7mm screw in there, pull the door weatherstrip off and pull the trim panel off, after you do that gently pull the headliner down in the front corner and peek up at the sunroof frame, make sure the drain ose is still connected, the procedure is the same for both left and right sides. this should definitely clear up your problem!

How do you replace sun visor on '05 Tahoe?

The "post" mounted into the roof/headliner has a plastic "cap" cover over the screws, I believe. If not simply remove the screws and drop the visor down...it may have a wire that connects power for the vanity mirror...just find the tiny clips and disconnect. I'd look for the visor using a junkyard "landline" search-first. Trim pieces like visors can be difficult to locate depending where you live in the country. Dealer-sourced, expect to spend $$$ per visor
Good Luck

Sun visor on 2005 Nissan Murano won't stay up/falls down

go to a dealership with a screwdriver and your broken sun visor in hand. take out a nissan murano with an interior that matches yours for a test drive and perform a switch on the sun visors. install your broken visor in place of the one that works, and take the one that works out of the car that your test driving.

Problem solved, its free, and you didn't have to get creative to fix the problem. Plus, they can't blame you for a broken visor considering that they fail in these cars all the time. You're welcome!!!

Headliner removal

this is not an easy repair w/o damaging the headliner. There is nothing up there except maybe a roof brace. Check the luggae rack again by trying to move all the peices. One must be loose.
there are 27 steps!
If equipped, remove the overhead console.
  1. Remove the screw and disconnect the electrical connectors
  2. If equipped, remove the electronic compass sensor.
  3. If equipped, disconnect the auto dimming interior mirror connector.
  4. Remove the interior/map reading lamp. For additional information, refer to Section 417-02 .
    • Upon installation, make sure the notch in the headliner aligns with the tab on the interior/map reading lamp bracket.
  5. Disconnect the roof opening panel electrical connector and the wire connector pin-type retainer.
  6. Remove the gimp around the roof opening panel.
    1. Remove the sun visors. For additional information, refer to Sun Visor in this section.
