Cooling fan not working pontiac montana sv6 2005

Your electric fan should only kick on when the van tells it to. The way this is accomplished is by a sensor. I dont know where it is located on your vehicle specifically, but they are sometimes located in the radiator (common for aftermarket fan kits).

I have a 2004 Montana van. It will start if I turn the key on 2 or 3 times to let the fuel pressure build up in the lines. Is there a pressure switch that needs to be changed or do you think the fuel pump...

There isn't a pressure switch to replace. You need a new fuel pump because it isnt holding fuel pressure. There is a check valve in the pump that has gone bad. When you cycle the key the pump runs for 2 seconds priming the system, this is why it starts after you do this. I hope this helped.

Smells gas after idling

The fuel pressure regulator may be bad and leaking gas on the intake manifold. It's a cylinder shape with a vacuum line and it's connected to the fuel injector rails. When the diaphragm goes bad in the regulator, gas will leak from it and on to the engine, which give you the smell of gas through out the car when it's running. Good luck and keep me posted, Auto Zone sell them for around $15.00 and that can give you the step by step instructions with common tolls and takes about 15 to replace.

Where is the fuel filter on a 2005 Pontiac Montana ? Can I change it or does it have to be done by a mechanic.

The fuel ilter is under the van under the drivers side floor board mounted to the inside of the frame rail. You can replace it with basic mechanic skills.

I am looking to locate where the fuel filter is located in my 2006 Montana so that I can change it

It's close to the fuel tank (about a foot towards the front of the vehicle). It's cylidrical and has metal lines coming into and out of it and is mounted on the frame.

How to replace a fuel filter on my 2000 pontiac montana

The fuel filter is located on the drivers side about the mid point of the van inside the frame rail. Loosed the fuel cap to relieve some of the pressure in the fuel system. The filter is held in place by 1 nut (which will probably break off when you try to remove it) and held to the fuel lines on each end by a plastic clip. Pull out these plastic clips with needle nose pliers and pull the fuel lines off. It is easier to understand if you already have the new filter in your hand so you have some idea what these plastic clips look like. Like I said, you will get fuel on you as the lines have fuel in them and well as the filter will be full of fuel.
