I have a 1995 ford e-350 van. It sat for a year. Crank no start condition. I put a spark plug boot to block and cranked it one spark then nothing. I am thinking something with the cap and rotor. No codes

1993 ford van E 150 will crank over but not start. has compreseion and fuel and spark and timing is on. What else could be issue

Pull a plug wire, stick a screw driver in the plug wire socket and hold the metal shaft of the screw driver about 1/8 inch from the block. Get someone to turn the ignition key to start and while it is cranking see if you get a spark. If not, look under the front of the truck and locate the "crank trigger" located on the front of the block and going to the area of the crank ballancer. If it looks dirty, the get some contact cleaner and squirt it good and use a tooth brush to clean the trigger and surrounding area of the ballancer where the trigger makes contact, then try starting again.

1999 ford van 5.4L cannot remove the spark plug boot what tool is used? Van sat over winter engine locked up- antifreeze fill can is emity drained the antifreeze 2 gals, temp -25 degs. tried to turn over...

if you have coil packs for each spark plug, like mine, i use a pair of pliers to grip the boot and slowly wiggle it back and forth to loosen it. as for the motor locking up; after sitting long periods corrosion builds in the cylinder. get the plugs out and put a little [about a teaspoon] trans fluid in each one and slowly work the crank back and forth till it turns freely. be patient, working it to fast will damage cylinder walls. may take a few days to work it in. good luck.

The fuel pump pressure shoud be 55-61 psi . Check for spark by removing a ignition wire at a spark plug and put a spark plug in wire and hold to engine ground and crank engine , if no spark then remove coil wire at cap and repeat. If still no spark then coil , module,,crank sensor or pickup may be the problem.
Check fuel pump pressure first and if available check for codes for possible crank sensor.

1999 Dodge Ram Van doesn't start,3500- 1 ton, 5.9- v-8 it's got 158,500 miles, 1) doesn't start 2) No spark (Condition: Good fuel pressure)

I'm not familiar with dodge but I know Ford's and GM's have ignition modules that go out and you lose spark.

Turns over but won't start

check for spark by taking plug wire off of one of the plugs and putting another plug in the boot of the wire and lay the plug on intake. Crank it see if it sparks. If not it maybe your crank sensor down by your crankshaft pulley.

Have you tried replacing the starter? I know starters can go bad if the car is not started or run for a long time.

I am getting the same car, with the same issue.. it sat for 2 yrs and won't start.

My mechanic told me it is probably a starter.
