Sounds like the noise is from the engine when starting from a stop at low rpm, between 10-15 mph, then dissipates

Hello
Please try and be more detailed about the noise. Does it come from the engine? You must relaize that to diagnose a car noise over this keyboard is a very difficult task, so it will require that you help pinpont the exact location that the noise comes from, I can then offer possible causes based on the noise type and how loud and what area it comes from..

My best suggestion is have the engine mounts checked, you may have a broken front mount. Most shops will check this for free.

Why didn't you say that it was new??? DO NOT TOUCH THE CAR, TAKE IT BACK FOR WARRANTY REPAIR. If you do any work on it you can void the warranty and you can get stuck with a repair bill.

Of course it is possible on a new car, have fixed 100's of such faults on "Brand New" cars

2010 ford focus automatic trsnsmission makes rubbing noise when accelerating from acomplete stop . noise continues until 2nd gear engages. from then on all is fine. reverse sometimes doesnt engage, ma

A carrier bearing usually pertains to the differential assembly and would not cause the symptom you describe. There is a problem with this transmission that causes it to not drop completely to first gear after a period of driving. Ford is aware of it but I do not believe they have initiated a recall. Call your Ford dealer(s) to see if you can find an honest man. Ask for the service manager.

My car makes a droning or humming sound around 2000 rpm along with vibration but it goes away as soon as I increase the speed or come to a stop.

could be the timing belt tensioner. with the timing casing removed place a socket extension bar on some metal then to your ear as it will help you locate the noise. be careful tho. failing that big end shells i would check. hope this helps

Driving in town and when I back off the accelerator at around 50km's the engine makes a deeper whurring sound. Also when I drive over 80km's it does the same.

that sounds like a possible rod insert connecting bearing... loose insert and can be catastrophic you need to have it analysed ASAP..under pressure of acceleration it will hold but around 2200 rpm it will sound rackety when you let off the accelerator..then hold at 2000-2500 RPM and let up and down quickly..if you here any unstable dinging or clicking..get it verified by a good mechanic..GOD BLESS

98 Dodge Avenger Shifting Problem

I would take it to a couple of different trans shops for advice.
Not really possible to "test" a transmission by driving it.
It has an over-ride safety to shift up even if the selector is in low.
My first guess would be the clutches are slipping or there is a solenoid that is not holding.
May be trouble codes in the computer.
