my 2002 focus rear windows won't go up. I removed the door panel and there is a cable loose, don't know where it goes.

If you have a loose cable then the mount on the window slide has probably broken off and will have to be replaced.

That cable cannot be uncurled since it has slipped out and probably has loose strands. You will have to replace the entire window regulator, which includes that wire and the mechanism that the glass goes up and down on.

Its called the rear glass latch or rear window latch. It would be available thru a dodge dealership, but obviously expensive. You may try a large parts store like Autozone or Pep Boyz. The third alternative is to call auto wreckers in your area. Its the same latch from 2000-2005 Liberty's. It isn't that hard to remove. The rear door panel needs to be removed, then the latch is attached with 2 bolts, and an electric cable.

2003 grand am-rear window lowers but wont raise-motor working both directions-can raise window by hand-dont know about cable operated-diagrams?

Sounds like the two tabs that connect the window glass to the motor hardware may be broken off. This happened to me before. It will let the window go down because gravity and the weight of the window let it fall but when you try to close the window it is only getting pushed up with either the front or back tab on the window jamming it in the tracks and not letting it go up.

Need diagram on how to R&R rear door panel 2002 Cadillac Seville

You can either go to google ebooks and find a free repair manual for your car, or go to and register for free online repair manual.

You will need to remove all screws, then remove window and lock controls, then take large flat-tipped screwdriver and gently pry next to all the plastic studs that hold on panel to door. Once all panel is pried up and loose, just pull straight up and lift off. Then remove plastic without ripping the middle, (You can stick back on later) then you will have access to window motor. It is a 12 volt motor.

Power window for elantra

Hello, I see you are having a problem rolling your back windows up or down. The wire you are speaking of is actually a cable. Once it comes or becomes loose there is no repairing the window regulators. These regulators are unrepairable. You are very lucky if your windows are staying up because when they usually break your window will fall. Thank you

I have 2004 F150 Supercrew. Rear passenger window

You've got the infamous power window mechanism failure, and the best solution is replacing the mechanism. Replacements are becoming more and more available aftermarket, but if not, it's a dealer item. You might check Ebay or Amazon too.

I've had 2 replaced on my 01 Tahoe, and have replaced 2 on my '03 Jeep Cherokee. Both designs are the same. Motor is good, but cable system has a plastic piece that breaks and is not sold separately. Even if it was, when it breaks, the cable winds itself around things and is ruined.

Reply back is you have questions or have other thoughts.
