Where does the crank sensor get its 12 volts from?

The voltage signal to all the sensors on and for the engine and the emission control system use a 5 volt reference voltage that is supplied by and controlled by the Powertrain control module (computer), they do not use 12 volt system voltage, so if you think that your problem is that 5 volts is to low that is not the case and you need to look elsewhere for the problem. The reason for the 5 volt reference signal is stability of sensor output signals.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. WAS TOLD IT WAS THE 02 SENSOR/VALVE. WHERE DO I FIND THIS? GMC SIERRA 1500

You should have 5, O2 sensors on your Sirera. What are the DTC codes, each codes will indicate which O2 sensor needs to be addressed, or is this an answer with someone guess what the check engine light is saying.
Thye check engine light could be from a bad O2 sensor to just a bad or loose gas cap to a transmission issues.
Thank you for using fixya and note that Auto Zone and most larger auto parts store will scan DTC codes free of charge.

The o2 sensors in that truck are heated. You probably have a bad o2 sensor if you have a code for a 02 heater
