Chances are the pump in that transmission is worn out and not putting out enough pressure to shift into the higher gears. Try changing the filter if you haven't done so allready. A pressure test of the trans would give you a start to resolve the issue.

Tranmission

Welcome to TH440 troubles, get to your transmission shop or the salvage yard. Salvage yard will give you some money for a down payment for a new car. Transmission shop may cost you $1500 or more.

Need to have the transmission checked up by a mechanic, you might have a defective reverse gear mechanism

I have recently purchased car VITZ , also being sold has by the name of Yaris in Europe. It has automatic gear transmission P - Parking N - Neutral D - Drive R - Reverse But its gear has also abbreviation...

I suspect gears are arranged in the same manner as US-marketed vehicles, PRND21, with B and S representing a mid and low gear. Not sure where you are in the world or what the original market for the VITZ is, but the Yaris is sold in the US as well.

Trans goes in drive for a minute then slips out reverse out if you shut off and restart drive works again then slips out low gear runs fine just cant go over 30

You may wanna try replacing the soleniod pack mounted on the front of the transmission.U may have to purchase it at a local dealer or napa.If that does not repair your issue you may have to install a used transmission.

I have a 85 cutlass and i can not drive in

this is going to be a tranmission issue and needs to be addressed by a transmission expert. the other less expensive option would be to purchase a known working one from a junk yard and have someone install it. if youre going that route, make sure they replace the axle seals, trans pan gasket and filter. happy holidays

Put in reverse car goes back and then locks up

This sounds like an internal transmission problem and best left to the experts. Transmission guys are like heart specialists -- regular doctors know the basics but won't mess with them. We mechanics are usually the same way with transmissions. This sounds like a serious mechanical issue possibly in the differential section of the trans (if it's front or all wheel drive) or in the rear axle (if it's rear wheel drive) Either way, a reputable transmission repairman should be able to help you out and it is very unlikely that this is something that could be fixed without the help of a "specialist" I have an A.A.S. in Auto Technology, yet two of the three transmissions that I've had that needed rebuilding were done by a specialist (the first I did myself -- after 4 or 5 tries I got it working, sold the car, and it propmtly blew again!)
