Question about Chevrolet C1500
I would change the MAP sensor and take the Idle Air Control Valve off and clean it with spray throttle body cleaner. Also clean out the port where the valve attaches to the intake. Don't use carb cleaner, it can harm the throttle body and related parts. You might want to purchase a scan tool to see if the on board diagnostics has any trouble codes which could indicate other problem areas, such as the catalytic converter. The tool is just a piece of metal designed to ground the a and b terminals of the diagnostic port. The codes are read by counting the flashing check engine light. Instructions will come with the tool. It's quite simple, but too much to try to explain here.
