Question about Jeep Grand Cherokee
Is a typical case, but we can use like a general method:
First remove all the water from your system by draining the radiator, it's best to do it this way so you can add new coolant and keep the mess to a minimum, after your water is drained, go ahead and remove the heater core feed lines.
For the specific case, Grand Cherokee, check this info, maybe the answer are in there: ZJ Secc 24 Heating and Air Conditioning (Page 41 and Next)

Wow. I realize this is an old thread, but this has to be said:
zjlimited you should be a little more clear as to which model this is supposed to cover, because for a 2000 grand cherokee (wj) this is a very major operation. If it was as easy as you make it sound, the dealership wouldn't charge $1500.00 (plus $250.00 or more for parts) and take 2 full days minimum to do the work. People come here for exact answers, not generic fixes from self qualified backyard mechanics that have never actually worked on the problem themselves. Your answer for this topic will get the average person into very real problems.
If you intend to perform this surgery on your wj, buy the shop manual. Skip the cd's, haynes, chiltons, and go for the real and true factory service manual. Until you have a good manual its best not to attempt this operation.
And dont forget to address the chronic blend door issues while you are in that heat box or you will regret it later...
