My 05 chevy cavalier stopped running after i rear ended someone.. need help..

Sounds like its the fuel shut off switch. It has a reset button on it. Most cars they are in the trunk or under rear set cushion. Its for safety, just in case of a rear end accident it will shut the fuel off. Good-Day!

No voltage to fuel pump 2002 saburban

vehicles have a safty device that kills the fuel pump in case of a roll-over accident so the fuel will not be poured on to the car and ignite. also, this fuel pump kill switch is used when you are going to remove the fuel pump to de-pressurize the fuel line by cranking the engine while the fuel pump safety switch is off. you can restore the power back to the fuel pump by resetting the fuel pump safety (kill) switch. some are located in the trunk, by the fender well, behind the carpet. some are located inside the kick panel where the front passenger sits. check your motor manuel for that vehicle or ask a parts person at the dealership for the location of the safety switch for the fuel pump.

Kill switch

No such thing as a kill switch.
Ford products have an inertia switch to cut off power to the fuel pump.

91 LINCOLN VII WONT START UP AFTER IT KILLED ON ME SEVERAL DAYS AGO. HAD TO BE PULLED HOME.

Hello, Look in your trunk for a set of buttons on the side of the carpeted trunk. There should be a switch for the air-ride and close to it is a safety switch with a push button on it. You just press the button on the safety switch and it will reset. The safety switch is called an "Inertia" switch and when you get an impact, it cuts the power to the fuel pump to prevent fires.

Once in a while the switch will trip if a door or the trunk is slammed at just the right frequency to make the safety switch work. Nothing is broken, nothing to buy, just reset the switch.

The cavalier starts and runs for 7 second sthen dies

Believe the fuel pump power runs thru the oil pressure switch,if the pressure drops too low ,it kills the pump.Thinking the pressure switch may be bad.The pump runs during cranking ,but not while running.

Pull the mat back on the upper part of your trunk, there's a little plate with screws in it take it off, you will see the top of the fuel pump unplug it and take the lines off pull the fuel pump up. install the new one. hook up the lines and wiring your done. always be careful when working on fuel related parts
