Have another key made at walmart, your key is problbly worn out.by having new key made with your worn out key,new key will have better notches to activate tumblers in ignition cyl.also try simply turning steering whrrel hard right &left.steering wheel lock may be keeping cyl frm turning.

Check to make sure you're getting power to the coil when the key is turned. You may need a new ignition switch.

Key ignition wont turn, why?

Your steering wheel could be turned and the vehicle sitting in such a way the the steering wheel is putting pressure on the column lock. Pull the wheel one way or the other and see if that frees it up. Good luck.

Check the ignition switch located under the dash on the steering column. Check to see if you hear an electric switch go on when you first turn the key on.

2001 Blazer: sometimes I put the key in and it won't start if I jiggle the key inside ignition contact is made and it starts. Is it ignition problem or starter problem?

Sounds like it's your ignition, if you have lot's of keys  and a big key chain, that's a real killer to the ingintion switch. Good luck
