Re: Swap a 86 350 into a 91 camaro with a 305 TBI
Good idea, use 350 block,305 heads &intake.the reason is, if the 91 305 heads are 4 bolts in center of valve cover the are what you call vortec heads, they have better flow.the tbi will respond better &still have bettergas milage than old style heads.the 350 block will add more overall power.you shouldnt have any problems doing so,you will notice a diff.have fun, good luck.

Find out if the engine is effective enough in air in-taking. Most of such problems are due to faulty air intake systems which at the same time fail to support proper performance of the engine. A number of cars also lack these gadgets and in case yours is one of such then you need to install it. You can get a number of them from AFE Performance to pick from..
Hello....The ECM on your camaro has one (1) injector driver in it. This drive splits
to 2 traces inside of the ECM and exits on 2 separate pins. Each bank of injectors has its own fuse. So
a fuse may have popped. Check the wiring harness and check for bad grounds. To check the injectors measure the resistance across the
injector pins. It needs to be above 14 ohms. Best if checked while they are
hot. Good luck, i hope this helps.
There is a temp sending unit and a temp sensor. One in the cylinder head between the spark plugs and the other in the intake manifold. If you've replaced both w/no success and insist on tryin the ecm you can swap it only if the other Camaro is the same fuel system (TBI for TBI or multiport for multiport).I've done this quite a few times. The Ecm is under the passenger side dash area where a glove compartment "would be."You'll need a 7mm socket and I think a 10mm socket. To remove the ecm harness plugs you'll have to slide out the little plastic pin locks holding the plugs in.
2bbl intake will not fit 87-95 small blocks heads are diferent from pre 86.the center bolts on your manifold are angled different than the front and back bolts.your 2bbl manifold has the same angle bolts front to back.i converted my buddies 89 to carb, had to make adapter plate for carb.but to make a long story short there is a lot of power loss and fuel economy your better of with tbi.
Try 0 degrees. It should state it on the radiator cover, but mine didn't. I tried 10 advance and it started real hard. I think you need to disconnect the single wire terminal near the distributor/coil that sticks out of your harness wrap before you set timing and reconnect it afterwards. That's what I recall from my TPI car and this TBI car seems to have the same electronics. Good luck.
