The drain is a runoff from the outside wiper grill, the open area under neath the wiper grill is for outside air to suct in from your a/c blower. The only way to repair it is to the body shop this will take alot of $$$$$$$$. but for me I'll take a rubber glue tube, cut a piece of rubber inter tube and apply the glue patch it from the inside............where the water is coming in. This work for about 5 years now since I live in the pacific rim, rust is very but here.......good luck

I removed the parts from the cowl area today to to access the fresh air intake. There was a lot of organic matter I removed with a shop vac that was keeping the rain water from draining properly. I also made sure the drain holes in the body were clear. Using a high grade silicone sealer I caulked around the base of the fresh air intake, the sides and bottom (its impossible to do the top). I also removed the ac/heat blower, turned it upside down and drained about 6oz of water from it. I will see what happens after the next rain.

Has anyone had water soaked passenger side floor mats and rug for 2011 Bz?

Hi,

This is of concern.....especially if no recent rain.

Your vehicle is covered by warranty and should be checked by your local BMW dealership.

If there has not been any rain, but your floor is wet....it's possible your heater radiator core (radiator) under the dash, is leaking.

Seek immediate attention.

Cheers,

Water leaks onto the passenger floorboard during heavy rain

Floor plug or plugs have fallen out most likely. There Should be some plastic plugs under the floor board outside. Look to visualy check to insure they are still in one piece.

A busted heater core will flood the passenger side floorboard when the heat is turned on.

My passenger side floor is saturated with water when it rains. When I make right turn I hear what seems like water sloshing.

Hello,
If you can smell a little bit of a sweet smell from the water on the passenger side floor, or if it has an oily film to it, you may have a leaking heater core.

They usually leak on the passenger side floor, and that might explain why you hear water sloshing around.

If you can run the engine for about 5 minutes and then turn your heater on. Look under the dash in the area where the dash meets the floor board and see if you can see anything leaking.

I hope this helps you.

If you have a wet seat then it is likely defective weather stripping around the window.

Try this. If the floor is dry, then it rains and the floor remains dry, only gets wet after a drive in the rain or on wet streets, you may have a hole somewhere.

Check for holes from missing rubber grommets or holes in the floorboard or firewall from rust. Check for any rust holes or missing rubber grommets under the car or on the firewall, anywhere water can splash up into the vehicle from driving in rain or running through puddles..

Check wet spots along the carpeting all the way up under the dash, if the wet spot is higher than the floor itself, you could be getting the water from splashing through puddles.

Any holes under the car or in the fenderwell even up on the firewall can cause this problem.

First check for any obvious signs of rust, if none are found then look for missing or defective rubber grommets.

Very wet floor on pasenger side front and back after rain. Not from cooling system. Can't locate source even with hose.

Do you notice this after it rains>> This seems to be a common problem with Dodge Vehicles.

There is a seal on the passenger side Hood Hinge area. If this seal is cracked or broken or missing you will get water in the car every time it rains.
The water runs down the windshield in to the Hing area under the Hood.

You may need to take the hood off to get to the seal. First pour water over the area, if it comes in the car there is your problem.

You can seal it with any water proof silicone sealer .

Floor wet

The heater core would be the only cause of the souce of water drippng when you add to the cooling system. Check your heater core to heater hose connections first. Do the simple stuff before embarking on a "fantastic voyage". You may just have a slightly cracked hose as well.
