Question about 1988 Chevrolet Camaro
To set the ignition timing you will need to disconnect the electronic timing control. It is usually a dark brown and black wire located on the passenger side foot well where the carpet meets the firewall. Once the wire is disconnected, loosen the distributor and set the timing with a timing light. If you have an automatic transmission, I think the timing is 6deg BTDC. Tighten the distributor down and connect the ETC wire.

For future reference, its a tan single wire connector (likes like an O2 sensor plug) and its located under the hood in the main computer harness near the blower fan motor before it gets tucked behind the fender. The plug should be sticking out of the wire loom.
