On most fords there is 11 . but there are differant lengths so make sure they go back in the right place . 2 on the top 2 on the bottom 4 on the side with the started and 3 on the other side . This is a general answer becauue didn't mention make model or engine . hope this helps

You have to know the motor bell housing bolt pattern

Even if it bolts up, it won't work

1995 is OBD1 & 1996 on is OBD 2

I would never replace one failed trans with another used one,
that won't work,it will just slip or fail & be of no use to you

Pull your trans & take to a trans shop

That is called an over the counter & your get a good price to
rebuild it,maybe even wholesale ,since they don't have to R&R
the trans or diagnose anything

Need location and r/r proceedure for fan blower motor on a 2001 grand cherokee limited.


backside of radiator you will see the fan shroud and fan assembly.
4 - 10mm bolts (one on each corner) will be holding it in place.
Remove the bolts (this will take some time as these bolts are in very tight areas) once the bolts are removed, very carefully pull the trans cooler line out of its mounting on the fan shroud (bottom drivers side of the shroud)
Pull fan and shroud out thru the top (be very careful wiggling it out, you do not want to break the shroud)
Once out, remove the fan motor (4 bolts and a round clip holding it in place)
Replace in reverse order.

there are 3 or 4 bolts holding the torque converter to the flywheel. You did not specify what engine you have, s o for the moment I will suggest that you look for either an inspection cover to be removed to access bolts or a small opening at the bell housing. You will need to rotate the engine around to access each bolt.
Make sure you have a pan under the area as trans fluid will pour out when you attempt to remove the engine. Depending on which engine I might have suggested removing the driveline and separating it on the ground.....too late now. Let me know how you make out.

Hard time with transaxle to fix clutch


ok this is fun

you need to remove the strut lower ball joint and the trans mount then remove the motor mount from front of opisite side frame rail to allow motor to rotate
then trans will drop about 4-6 inches undo the bolts slowely arround the bell housing when all bolts out shake the bastard it will slowely slip off
remember to jack the car up high i usualy go 2 feet off the ground with swifts and geo remove the cluch cable and i believe the starter stays in place just need to undo the bolts \
this job takes about 3 hours start to finish trans drops out the botom and goes in the same way use a small jack to suport the trans untill all bolts out and dont forget to use your ball joint fork to pop the drive shafts out of the trans and btw use new fluid to replace3 your losses on the ground c
and if all else fails buy a chilton book they are a god send

Not by yourself,on your back, in the driveway. You will need a shop with a lift and the proper equip to support the engine etc.

How to take a manual transmission out of a chevy 1500


super easy even a novice mechanic can have one out in a little over an hour, lift it in the air about as high as you can get it put jack stands under it
disconnect the drive shaft
loosen the exhaust, doesnt need to come off
remove the starter
remove the slave cylinder
remove the shifter from the top 4 screws and 4x8mm bolts and 1x10mm bolt holding the wires running to the trans.
remove the bolts that connect the motor to the trans there are 6 really that hold it with several other nuts on top holding wires and such.
remove the 4 bolts that hold the crossmember and the bolt to the trans on the crossmember,
stick your jack underneath the trans and remove the crossmember. pull the trans straight back and lower. even without the right tools you can have this done in about 30min

Drivers side, top of motor where trans attaches. One of the starter bolts is the trans to motor bolt. Hope that helps you find it. Have a good day.

Changing the clutch is a big job. If you don't have a lift and tranny jack I wouldn't reccomend attempting the repair. If you have the right setup it does not require engine removal. However, you could remove the engine and trans together and then separate them outside of the engine bay. First, you need to remove the ball joints. This is done by removing the wheel and using a ball joint separator tool. Its a "U" shaped tool that fits underneath the ball joint boot. There is an air tool that can do this. Once you remove the ball joint, you need to remove the driveshaft from the hub. This is done by holding the hub assembly by the brake rotor and pulling towards yourself. The driveshaft may come out of the trans first so be careful not to damage the spline on either end of the driveshaft by dropping it. Once the driveshaft is removed, repeat this procedure on the other side of the front end. You need to remove the slave cylinder from the clutch fork. Two 10 mm bolts hold it on. Next, remove the shifter cables. Now with , you can start removing the trans bolts. First, support the trans from the bottom with the jack. Next, remove the trans to body mount. This bracket is located near the battery. If you look in front of the battery you will see it. Remove and check the jack. You may need to adjust the jack to support the weight of the trans. Next, remove the trans to engine bolts. Look for where the casing for the trans and engine block meet. You will find the bolts there. Remove all the bolts and the trans should start to move a little. With the jack supporting the trans, start to move the trans away from the engine block. Once you have separated the trans from the motor, lower the jack slowly making sure the trans is balanced on the jack plate. Get the trans to a stand or appropriate resting place to remove the clutch assembly
