Change the thermostat. Depending on the models it might just be 10 or less. Should sit on top. Follow the top hose from your radiator to the engine and you will see where the hose stops. Right there is your thermostat. You need to make sure you get one tha thas a gasket. Easy thing to do yourself with minimal tools. Good luck

Recently had a new water pump fitted to my jeep Cherokee but it's still overheating and the heater in the car doesn't work. Any idea what might be causing this

if no leaks in hoses, then flush out the radiator etc, there maybe a plug up in system. also change thermostat. God-Bless! and hope this helps you.

My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is running hot, should I believe it is the water pump? I still have heat.

Yes a bad water pump will definitely cause it to run hot. you'll probably be able to hear it as well as a whinning noise from the front of the engine. Also check for really low or incorrect fluid. jeeps are know for bad water pumps and leaky radiators. the heater pump is a seperate pump from the water pump. Also check for radiator fan opperation while the vehicle is stopped. If the fan is not coming on, it could be a fuse, relay, or intake air temp sensor.

05 jeep cherokee is leaking antifreeze. the car was making a clanking sounds for a few days, that noise has now stopped and it is now over heating and leaking fluid. the heater is also now switching...

It could be the water pump, the air switches from hot to cold because the heater core is the highest point in the cooling system so as you run low on water you lose heat, if the water pump has siezed you are in danger of losing the serpentine belt, so don't wait to get it fixed.

95 jeep stops running when it gets hot . It willstart after it cools down. put new coil on but did not help

Possible that the fuel pump is not holding or is not pumping when the engine heats up. In some cases the failure of the diaphragm can cause this issue. So if you have a good intensity spark even when the engine is hot, the it can be ONLY the FUEL.
Check the fuel pump and delivery.

only one! have you had a "sniffer test done!" this test takes some water out the rad and checkes it for hydrocarbons if there there its a head gasket leaking or head cracked letting hot gases into the water jaket

My 2004 Jeep Cheokee loredo is running hot. Could

Could be several things,

1. thermostat
2. water pump
3. fan motor is bad (is the fan running when at temp?)
4. fan motor relay

Is it running hot all the time or just when setting idle?

Engine temp goes hot when A/C is running. A/C

Possible loose AC belt but more likely a water pump issue. Putting the AC on puts more strain on the water pump to circulate coolant which also would impact the AC performance.
