My blinkers are working properly, however, I get a fast blinking sound. Would buying a new emergency flasher correct this problem? The flashers are currently workiing.

There are usually two different flashers for the 4-way and turn signals.
Before you replace the flasher, make sure all your bulbs are working.

2000 alero turn signal and the hazzard dont work what is the problem

Good Evening, this is a common problem and you would be best to check with your local dealer to see if the recall (replacing the hazard switch) has been done. Your hazard switch is also your turn signal flasher and your hazard flasher all in one switch. Try playing with the button while you have your turn signals on, there is a good chance you will notice it may work sporatically. Hope this helps.

Turn signals work off and on in my 2000 alero could it be the flasher or something else.

There are a number of reasons why they will sometimes not work. Flasher, contacts on the multifunction switch, even the light bulbs not making a good connection/contacts. You can first try out the flasher if this doesnt work try wiggling the switch around a lil and see if you can make it work or not work in a specific position, other than off position, this will let you know that the switch is not making a good connection. This part can be pricey so dont jump to any conclusions right away consult a friend to verify your ideas. Have that friend stand at the back of the vehicle while you hold the brake and wiggle the switch if they see that the light will go out and not flash then you are looking at that switch...keep in mind some of those vehicles use the brake light as a blinker as well so it might turn off to blink. Just follow your instinct and rule out other possible issues to narrow it down to a specific item. This is every mechanics philosophy. P.s. by all means the flasher is a cheaper part you can try it out first. If that does not fix your problem then u know what to do next.

Blinkers work sometimes?

There was a recall for this type of problem. I had the same problem and changed the signal flasher, and switch, and still had the problem. Having the dealership address the recall issue fixed the problem for me.

Flash signal

Check Under the Hood for the Fuse Relay Box. This should have the Flash Module in it. The Diagram is inside the Cover for the Box. If not there, Look under the Dash on the Left of the Steering Column and see if there is not a Panel under there that has a Small Circle and Square at the Top of the Panel, Turn the Flashers on and you will be able to here the Correct Box Ticking in Sequence with the Blinkers. Replace this Box. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Flash signal

To my knowledge the turn signal flasher for a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero is part of the Hazard Flashing switch. It is actually a 4 way flasher unit in one assembly.

Additionally, there was a recall order for 1999-2002 Alero models due to electrical issues which includes signal lights. You can try calling Oldsmobile at 1-800-630-6537. The Ref. No. is 04098A issued Jan. 11, 2006. Accordingly, the repairs will be made at no charge to the customer. The special policy covers warranty repair (for such problems) for a period of 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km), whichever occurs first.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

In Olds Alero the flasher is intergrated into the hazard light button. It is all one assembly in the dash. It is in the $40 dollar range, but that is the only way to fix the flashers is to replace assembly. You must remove the plastic housing from around the dash cluster to reach. It is located to the right of the dash cluster. If you are good with your hands you will be able to get it out without taking out the cluster. Be careful, it is held in place with plastic snaps. Part number is on the assembly and it is GM exclusive.
