Sure seems like fuel pump is weak those C.F.I 4.3 liter v6's have to have atleast 60 p.s.i of fuel press. or they will not run. Have someone put a fuel press.guage on it and check press.

Dying while driving uphill

Hate to tell you this, but unless you installed a
manufacturer fuel pump or the top couple brands
out there ,it may have failed again

If you ran the fuel low it failed for sure

You may have other issues as well going up hills

My mitsubishi challenger keeps dying when i go up the hill or downhill. i've changed the fuel pump but the problem is the same. sometimes its difficult to start the engine..

Check the condition and/or operation of the following:

1) Spark plugs, coils and leads.
2) Air filter
3) Fuel filter.

Please report back if no findings.

Not the alternator, but a fuel pump or fuel filter could be the problem. BUT it depends on the indications. A fuel starvation problem would act like it was lunging and then dieing out before it died. If it just dies out suddenly, then I would suspect an electrical problem like a coil pack or cap.

Have the shop check fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Maybe the pump impeller has failed. If fuel pressure is good, your timing chain/belt may have slipped.

If the vehicle has been sitting for a while, you should start by draining the fuel tank, and changing the engine oil. Gasoline does go bad if it is just sitting for a period of time, and will cause the issue you describe. Most likely, your issue is simply bad gasoline.

Car died and wont start

The fuel injector motor or called the Idle Air control module is not the failure. The fuel pump is overheating and dies out. Thus when letting sit a while the engine is starting up again.
I woult take vehicle to local shop and have them replace the fuel pump , I suggest not getting taken for a complete tune up. Just the fuel pump is the most cost effective way .

First try changing the fuel filter. It is extremely easy and costs about 12 dollars at Wal-mart. If that doesn't work than try changing the fuel pump itself. Little more costly but still pretty simple to do.
