Yes you can do this then car will revert to conventional braking system ,but the ABS motors do run randomly to maintain pressure so its nothing to worry about perhaps motors are a bit noisey which is why you can hear them ,I would advise you to leave well alone to be honest as i think teh system is working ok abeit a bit noisey

the ABS is a system that allows wheels that have stopped turning under brakes to turn again momentarily
the brakes work through the abs system normally at all times from the booster and it is only when a wheel stops turning that the electric motor in the abs unit provides pressure to a line to compensate for the fluid returned by the valve in that line that was opened when the wheel stopped
you can disconnect power to the abs ( fuse ,relay) and the brakes will still operate normally except that when in extreme braking situations the wheels will lock up and steering control will be the same as pre abs cars ( side skid and not able to steer around an object)
there may be a abs light come on but you will have to live with that
best talk with an accredited brak specialist shop as they may have an idea as to what can be done to bypass the abs
remember that the abs is part of the vehicle safety requirements and in by passing it or making it inoperable you may be making the vehicle un-roadworthy for the purposes of inspection and insurance.

Why doesnt my reverse lights work on my 1999 mercursy sable ls

check the transmission reverse sensor.
The vehicle speed sensor is located on the rear, left hand side of the engine as you stand in front of the car looking at the motor. When you look at the back of the engine , under the exhaust manifold , there is a small heat shield that you can pull off [it is spring clipped on the back, so you can pull it off without damaging it] and there it is.

Random misfire. Computer cannot figure out which cylinder is misfiring or it occurs randomly on all 8 cylinders. A friend of mine found his ABS system was kicking in while driving down the road, feeling like the engine was missing. Computer detected it as a P0300 random misfire. He removed ABS fuse and eliminated the problem.

YOU HAVE TO HAVE VECHICLE TOWED IN TO A GARAGE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS TURN OFF RADIO TO KEEP FROM LOSING THE CODE, THEN DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE TO KEEP FROM DRAINING THE BATTERY.IF YOU DISCONNECT ABS BRAKE MODULATOR UNIT FUSE AND RELAY YOU CANT DRIVE VECHICLE UNTIL TOW IN FIX,YOU NEED DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT TO FIX VECHICLE.NOT A HOME FIX.

Neither turn signals work on 1999 volvo s80

I had a similar problem on my S80 1999 2.9 . It turned out to be the SMS multifunction module in the steering column that had gone bad. I eventually had to have it replaced plus a software reload. It was expensive. Suggestions that did not work were to disconnect the battery, charge the battery, reload software . It was only after the unit was changed that the software was loaded at a cost
