SOURCE: need to install a timing belt on a 2002 ford focus

No marks to align camshafts, set crankshaft at TDC, align camshaft as shown, to align, lobs on cylinder #1 have to be pointing out at 45 deg, on the other end of camshaft's will be a slot on each one insert some thing through both as shown, to hold camshaft's in place.

SOURCE: crankcase capacity for 2003 ford focus 2.0 liter split port engine

Hi,

To my knowledge, a 2003 Ford Focus 2.0 SPi engine would need 4 quarts of engine oil (roughly 3.78 liters). Incidentally, the Ford/Cosworth Zeta/Zetec engine would be needing 4.25 quarts (~4 liters).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: timing marks for a 2001 ford focus 2 litre engine

there is no marks!you need special knowledge and tools to timing a zetec engine.try a haynes service manual but is difficult!the cam pulleys sitting on cam shafts with conical joint!without any safe pin or tooth etc.the timing needs to lock the cam shafts and the crankshaft with two special ford tools!try to go on a good garage!!isnt so expensive.a ruined engine is the most expensive repair!

I'm not sure why it is out of focus. Follow number 2 down to that small bluish mark, that's it. Ford calls it a cylinder head tamp sensor. I don't know liter size of engine? I looked at 3.5L. Two wire connector, wire colors orange with white tracer and blue with gray tracer. If you have different engine, let us know.

Need to know what kind of oil used in 2002 ford focus.

Harold, According to the 2002 Ford Focus Owner manual,
With engine oil filter change : 2.0 liter SPI engine takes ( 3.78 liters / 4.0 U.S. quarts of 5W-20 )
2.0 liter Zetec engine takes ( 4.25 liters / 4.5 U.S. quarts of 5W-20 )
links below talk more about what they think oil should be used.

Is there a ford focus timing marks single overhead cam diagram

depending on trans and engine mount type the mark my be on flywheel but generally most cars it is located on the belt pulley attached to crank rod, center bottom one on engine block. the timeing mark should be visable from top looking down. if you use a big ratchet to turn over the engine by hand and go slowly, you should see thhe marks pass as you do so.

Need timing marks for 1997 2.3 liter ford ranger

1. Turn the crankshaft until the timing marks on the crankshaft indicate TDC.
2. Make sure that the timing mark on the camshaft drive sprocket is aligned with the pointer on the inner belt cover.

Never turn the crankshaft of any of the overhead cam engines in the opposite direction of normal rotation. Backward rotation of the crankshaft may cause the timing belt to slip and alter the timing.
