My 2005 jeep liberty (3.7)rear door lock is cycling and nothing is working, there is a buzz coming from the relay panel in the engine bay is making a buzz. the front console is cycling multiple light and the car will not start. I removed the negative terminal to stop the car from cycling. I checked the battery for power with a multi meter and it read 12volts. their was no indication of blown fuses or loose relays.

I am having the same problem. The rear door lock cycles and the battery reads 12 volts. Multiple lights on the dash flash on and off but I cant get it to start. It almost seems like a dead battery but the battery isnt dead.

My jeep wouldn't start, not even the horn or doors would lock and when I checked the back, it would make a noise but not open the rear window/door at all. A friend came over and tried for over half an hour to jump it but it wouldn't start still. Yesterday, my 16 yr old son, unknown to me, went to walmart and got another battery, but while the car runs now, a lot of the electrical stuff like inside lights and the radio no longer work now..there was a specific code on the battery, but he didn't ask anyone at the walmart service desk what kind of battery would work for the jeep, but called a friend, and so got one and put it in. My son says that a few of the fuses might be blown and that they don't cost that much to fix, but I am concerned that he bought the wrong damn battery for the jeep. It's an 05 jeep liberty, and I have extended coverage for it through mercury, but I have not been able to reach them since this happened yesterday on a saturday, and they are closed on weekends. The code for the battery that was in it, when I called and asked the walmart they gave me was 4609365AD, based on what one person saw on the battery, and the replacement battery is a walmart 'everlast', and the only numbers I see on that are 26-5N 630 525. Can someone tell me if he did get the right battery replacement based on that?

Rear lights, brake lights and turn signals do not

I would check if they also run off of a relay, You could have a wire that is either broke or it is grounding out somewhere.

Tried to start jeep liberty 2005 went and opened

Aside from the part about the remote, I would first check to make sure the battery has a solid 12volts in it and that the terminal connections are clean. After this, then check to see if operation has been restored. Jumping across a battery with bad connection often prevents the vehicle from starting. Also try closing the doors and then locking and unlocking drivers door with the key itself. This should re-set the security system

Tailgate stuck

The auto lock burned out you need to go to dealer and get ripped off for $300 to have them fix it. Make sure you tell them the exact problem since it took 3 mechanics two days to figure mine out after i told them what was wrong the first time. Not too swift there.
