if your in a cold climat and your oil is dirty lifters will knock
till they fill with oil
i would change oil and filter
read your manual and put in the proper weight oil...ie: 5w30

fords are famous for pluging the oil filter on the 6 cyl. engines, thus reduceing oil flow to the upper engine

what kind of oil are you putting in? Engine oil, or transmission fluid? Engine oil should be on one of the valve covers or there will be an oil filler neck. Trans fluid you add in the trans stick

Have an oil leak from somewhere under the engine. Have already replaced the oil pan gasket, and the valve cover gaskets. Still have oil coming from under engine someplace. What could be possible problem?

check the oil pressure sending unit, clean engine then look to see where it is leaking, could be oil sending unit, dist drive seal or engine rear main.Need to determine wich side of engine.

19968 chrysler town and country- oil light stays on, oil level is fine.

This could be caused by a faulty oil sending unit, wich is located on the intake manifold or near it

Got a 1998 dodge neon with the 2.0 dohv 16v engine and it seems to burn oil on idle but goes away when rev it up or take it for a drive got any ideas?

your valve seals are worn or guides on the head. wha you need to do is take a compression test of each cilynder and when you are doing that check each spark plug for signs of oil wich means that is the cylinder with the problem so its either going to be the head or the piston rings

Cause and solution

sounds like one of the oil breather pipes is bloked wich will cause oil to feed to the cylinder wich will cause smoke and uneavan running wich will cause the car to **** when standing. take off all breathing pipes main ones come from the rocker covers clean them and put them back. the main engine breather will come out of the engine block do the same.
