Question about 1998 Ford Contour
HI,
Also have a 1998 Contour with 225,000 miles and just recently started to over heat. Over the years I replace most parts thru routine maintenance but never recalled an overheating problem. I read in another forum that a slighly clogged catalytic converter can cause this problem by not properly exhausting hot gases.
Have you solved the problem ? What was the cure?

I noticed on mine that if I turn on the AC the electric fans kick on and the engine cools down. I have to do this all the time to keep the engine cool. How do I get my fans to come on automatically? I have replaced the thermostat and no change?
