I always jack up a vehicle under the suspension sub frame as the jacking points which are at either end of the sills are prone to collapsing on vehicles used in nothern climes where salt is used on the roads

Jacking points on all Jeep vehicles

c17hydro_1.gif

Your Jeep was supplied with a jack for emergency road repairs. This jack is fine for changing a flat tire or other short-term procedures not requiring you to go beneath the vehicle. Do not attempt to use the jack on any portions of the vehicle other than specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Always block the diagonally opposite wheel when using a jack.

Placing a floor jack under the rear frame rail at the leaf spring shackle. It may be necessary to place a block of wood between the frame rail and the jack

Supporting the front of the vehicle with jack stands placed under each frame rail

A more convenient way of jacking is the use of a garage or floor jack. You may use the floor jack at the specified points in following the illustrations.

Never place the jack under the radiator, engine or transmission components. Severe and expensive damage will result when the jack is raised. Additionally, never jack under the floorpan or bodywork; the metal will deform

Support the car securely by using jackstand after jacking it up. Go underneath, and you will see it.

How do you get to the starter on a 2004 mazda6?

First thing: disconnect the battery terminals.
Either you jack-up the car and support it on jack-stands, then crawl underneath to remove the starter located on the side of engine-block. Three 14mm bolts/nut held it in place. (must disconnect
positive terminal at solenoid-switch also)

Or disconnect battery, remove air-filter and hose. stand by the car then find your way to the starter.

How to put freon in jaguar s-type

The compressor is located underneath the drivers area towards the front. Right beneath the compressor is the low pressure port and there's where you put your freon. You have to raise the car.. follow your owners manual for jacking... you should also use a hard jack for support since you will go a little underneath the front of the car... use alight. I recommend you get the freon 134 kit that has a pressure gage  so the you can see if the freon pressure         ( pressure high full or a problem with system ) or low and needs charging

Saab 95 Aero

Jack up o/s of car and support on stand
Remove front o/s wheel

remove bottom engine covers from inside o/s wheel arch and also bottom engine cover(plastic)

support engine with jack; remove yolk engine mount ( on belt side)

Put 1/2" extension drive into top of belt tensioner and pull toward engine - you can now put a 3mm drill bit or allen key into hole at side of tensioner to hold in position.

remove serpentine belt

from underneath car, use 8mm ( I think) allen key to remove centre bolt from belt tensioner

It should now come off of the car

fitting is the reverse of the above

hope it helps
