Question about Land Rover Range Rover

1 Answer

I NEED YOU TO FIND A REPLACEMENTserpentine drive belt (wich also drives the blower. FOR MY 1996 RANGE ROVER SUPERCHARGED (PARAGON MODEL) THIS WAS AN ACTUAL LAND ROVER AVAILAble vehicle from 1996-1999. it was a colaberation between range rover and cameron concepts supercharger corp. to study the viability of the now available rover supercharged sport./(introduced in 2006,some 10 years later) the non supercharged serpentine drive belt wont work(TOO SHORT BY FAR). the numbers and wording on my oem belt are ...(gates) " micro v at " A-G-3 1388MX. ALSO ,(mexico) K071045 ARE also stamped ON BELT. i AM NOT SURE IF THE zeros are zeros or the letter o.( OR SOME COMBINATION OF THE TWO> the patent numbers are 5,610,217 and 4,798,566. perhaps with the pat no#s you can get me a scematic wich could at least give exact dimentions to cross refrence against other manufactures.were not talking nasa specs here. anything within 1/32'' off in with and 1/2'' in length will work if need be as LAST RESORT............YOU CAN DO THIS, I HAVE FAITH.

You would be better off buying the Haynes manual that covers all aspects of the vehicle. If you can afford a Range Rover Vogue, you can afford the $30 odd for a manual

How do i change drive belt on p38 range rover

My sincere apologies for the delayed response.
I am personally going back to answer your unanswered questions.
I have only been a free contributor to this site for the past 4-months.

Not sure if this what you need for the "P38" but it is for the 1996 Range Rover.

I do not know if you still need this information, but I am going ahead and answering it anyway.

Click on the following Link. It has the several Serpentine Belt Diagrams, one of which matches your specific vehicle with your particular options (AC, Power Steering etc..).

Regarding HOW:
Standard Rule to Removal the Serpentine Belt:
1. Find the Tensioner(s). (See Diagrams on Link)
2. Rotate/Move the Tensioner away from contact with the belt and towards the area where the belt is not in contact with the Tensioner Pulley. The Tensioner is spring loaded, and is hard to rotate/move.
3. Remove the loosened belt off one of the other more easily accessed Pulleys
.
Standard Rules for Installing the Serpentine Belt:
a. Pick a Pulley that is most easily accessed. This will usually be on top. This will be the last Pulley that the belt will go on.

b. Using the Diagram: Install the new Serpentine Belt on the remainder of the Pulleys....over, under, left right.
c. Using a Serpentine Belt Tensioner Tool or Wrench or Ratchet Tool: Rotate/Move the Tensioner Pulley/Arm "away" from Belt contact area on the Tensioner. This spring is pretty hard and with a new belt, it will be even harder to install. Rotate/Move this to as-close to the maximum allowed inorder to have enough slack in the belt to get it up and over the last pulley.
d. Using your other hand - Pull the Belt up and over the Last remaining Pulley.
e. Before releasing the pressure on the Tensioner, visually inspect the remainder Pulleys and the Belts' Positioning on them.
Let me know if this helped...

Range Rover Sport Pinion and introduction

This new five-passenger premium sport-utility vehicle filled a price gap between Land Rover's LR3 and its ultraluxury Range Rover models. In fact, the all-wheel-drive Range Rover Sport was smaller than either, designed to compete with "high-performance" SUVs such as V8 versions of the BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne, as well as Cadillac's SRX. Based on the seven-passenger LR3's body-on-frame structure, the Range Rover Sport came as the HSE model with a 300-horsepower, 4.4-liter V8, and in Supercharged trim with a 390-horsepower, 4.2-liter V8. Both engines were sourced from Jaguar, which was owned by Land Rover's parent company, Ford. A six-speed automatic with manual shift gate was the sole transmission. All-wheel drive with low-range gearing was standard, and included Land Rover's Terrain Response system, designed to automatically tailor AWD performance to specific off-road conditions. Also included were a height-adjustable air suspension, antiskid/traction control, and antilock four-wheel disc brakes. The Supercharged model came with 20-inch wheels and Brembo-brand front brakes. On the HSE, 19-inch tires were standard and 20-inch optional. Both models contained front side airbags, head-protecting curtain side airbags, and a navigation system. Standard on the Supercharged model and available for the HSE were wood interior trim, heated seats, and Land Rover's Dynamic Response suspension system, designed to counteract body lean in turns. Satellite radio, wireless cell phone link capability, and rear DVD entertainment were options. Adaptive cruise control was available for the Supercharged edition.
