Sounds like a fuel pump. Check under your hood in the fuse box there. Should have a circuit
breaker for many of the items on your truck. Shut off the truck, listen for your hummm and start
unplugging circuit breakers and fuses (Pull one out at a time and replace it if nothing changes) until you pull the one that makes it stop humming. If the under hood fuses/circuit breakers dont indicate what it is, try the in cab fuses. Who knows, it could be the radio! There you have your answer as to what it is. Knowing what it is will help us figure out what to do next to stop it. Please advise us.

2003 acura tl died after running low on gas, but we put gas in it and it still wont start. Any ideas? Is there an inertia switch somewhere?

No, there isn't. The fuel pump is in the tank, and can burn out if it is run too long with an empty tank. It should hum for 2 seconds when you turn the key on. If it was low on gas, not empty, it shouldn't have been affected. then your problem is probably something else.

You may have what is called a parasitic draw, simply put something ( an electric circuit or component ) is emptying your battery of its power. It may be as easy as something that was left on like a dome light or a faulty electrical circuit component. First look and listen inside your vehicle with the doors closed for any lights that remain on or sounds of something running. There's a start good luck.

99 subaru outback battery goes dead overnite. checks good under load test.

you may have something draining the battery a bare wire touching something, check all of the lights , trunk, hood, glove box to make sure they are all off try disconnecting a lead from the battery overnight to see if the battery still is dead in the morning, if it doesn't go dead you will have to try and find out where the problem is .....hope this helps......cheers.

1989 f-150 4 speed...big six engine..when i turn the key off ,,something is humming not very loud..will run the battery down over nite?????

Hello p dill808
The old fords used to have a problem with the solenoid sticking, The solenoid is on the right fender well, near the battery. While it's humming, open the hood and feel the solenoid for any vibration, or if it's noisy. If so give it a couple of taps on the metal bracket part of the solenoid and that should free it up. Just replace it next time you're out. But if that is not the problem, remove and replace the
fuses one at a time until the noise stops. When it does, the fuse you just pulled powers the circuit
causing the humming, and it will be alot easier to find when you know where to look.
Hope this is helpful.

Wont start

Your compression requires you need heavy guage cables to avoid the cables overheating. They couldnt take the volt/amp draw being placed on them. I would get heavier cables and leave your vehicle key off and let the donar vehicle sit idling for a good while charging up your batteries. Better yet is if you have a trickle charger that you can hook up and let charge up your batteries... After you get them charged you will need to find that cause of the batteries going dead. Check to see if something was left on, or have your mechanic hook up your batteries to a multimeter and look for a draw...

Good battery, goes dead overnite

You've got something grounded out somewhere in the electrical system. Fastest way to find it is to take it to an Auto Electric shop & have them run a test. Any Sears auto center will do it for you for free.

2002 buick regal starting problem

You are describing a low battery voltage problem, make sure the alternator is working correctly, at least 13.5 volts at idle, also try to charge the battery and have it tested, Kragen will do the tests for free is you can get the car down there.
