My 2001 impala does the same thing. The dealership charged for a body control module, but didn't solve problem. Elsewhere on this site it says to disconnect part of security wires. May try that.

Check the battery cables you probably have a loose cable or corrosion between cable and battery terminal.

Head gaskets blown or cracked head. It only takes 1 time of running hot to cause damage as the heads are aluminum and the blocks is iron.

Can't Shift To Neutral with a Dead Battery

I am not sure about the Impala but the SAAB (also made by GM) has a small slot near the shifter where you can insert your key or screw driver (something flat) to release it from park when the car cannot be powered up.

I have a 2007 chevy impala when I try to use the remote start does not start and after that if I use the key it acts like the batterys dead and I have to jump it but if I use the key only it starts fine...

Is this a factory option remote start or after market?
If after market, the passkey bypass module may be malfunctioning which, after a few attempt at starting the car, will cause the car to go into tamper mode and prevent starting via remote start or key for a few minutes (10 minutes to an hour)

We have a 2002 Grand Cherokee that we have just bought. Dealer installed a brand new battery because of sluggish starts. In a week the battery is acting weak again, sometimes it starts fine, other times...

I was having the same issue with my 95 GMC. I replaced the battery and alternator. It would start fine at times, at other times it would be sluggish. I finally took the starter off and had it checked. Turns out the starter was bad. When it would get hot, it would act as though the battery was dead. Replaced the starter and it has not acted up again. Have the starter checked. Replace if bad.

My 2002 impala wont start i just hear a click when i turn key

You have a dead Battery, have the Battery tested, it should have a static charge of at least 11-12 volts, if lower than that, replace the Battery.

When i turn key it acts like a dead battery , battery is charged

1. There is a wiring connection that is draining the battery.

2. The alternator needs to be checked.

Cheers.

It wont start turn key dash lights up nothing happens

sounds like a dead battery to start with. Not even enough juice in the battery to energize the solenoid / brake interlock to get it out of PARK. Hope this helps
