Where is the button located in the vehicle? Where is is can be relevant to the problem.

Use the manual release inside the trunk under the side carpet, after the door is released have someone push the release button and see if the little pin pulls back, if it does put a drop of oil on it and see if it cures the problem, I have seen this many times. If the pin doesn't pull back when the button is pressed replaced the gas door electric solenoid.

1999 seville sls gas lid will not open

Check your fuses. If you can't find a bad fuse, it could be a faulty solenoid that opens the door.

There should be a manual release in the trunk near the gas door.

My Volvo S70 has a gas tank lid that locks when closed. There is a release on the driver's door. Yesterday when I tried to use the release on the driver's door to open the gas tank lid the gas tank lid...

HI,
Is this a lever or button you pull or push? If it's a button than it must be electric and there is likely a fuse somewehre in the link for both trunk and gas lid that may be under the dash, by the engine, or somwhere else.

If it's a lever than it's likely a cable that runs back to them...but not sure how BOTH would be 'broken'. Does the lever feel 'different' as in loose or less tension than in the past?

My windows, gas lid will not open

I can't tell you where for sure but you have an electrical short. Given the number of systems involved it's probably where your wiring harness goes through the firewall.

How do you fill the gas tank?

IM SORRY BUT THAT IS FUNNY.

No seriously now.....if the release in the trunk wont work then the relaese may be stuck, frozen, or broken.

While you are pulling the one in the trunk, you or someone else use something like a small screwdriver to pop the lid open, then leave it open till you find out whats wrong with the release.

By the way, just so you know, those gas doors will not stop anyone from syphoning your gas. A screwdriver will pop that door open in 1/2 second, its more cosmetic and a slight deterent.

THE BUTTON IN THE CONSOLE TO OPEN THE GAS CAP AND THE TRUNK WONT WORK AND I CANT PUT GAS INTO THE CAR!!!! IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO OPEN THE GAS COVER AND THE TRUNK???

I can't promise it, but in my 99 A4 there is a release cable in the trunk. I have to pull the trunk carpeting away on the side where the gas filler door is, and there's a red cable there that can be used as a manual release. I imagine your TT has one as well - look in the hatch on the side with the gas door, and pull the lining back - you'll probably have a release cable as well.

Trunk release button on door or remote of my 2001 Acura Cl does not open the trunk. Any idea what is wrong?

If it has aactory installed alarm it will do what you described. Disable the alarm functions and try it again. Also check the closed sensor on the trunk lid. It may just think it is already open. Also check wires from the trunk lid the connector may be unpluged
