There will be an exact specification for a completely dry system, all new components, or just to replace the compressor. Make sure to attain this spec. So to answer this question, NO.

I have a 2002 Santa Fe and I'm having problems

I'm assuming you're talking about the 'head pressure' to the condenser reading fine? You might have a clogged condenser or you have a 'mode door' which is either stuck open/closed.

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe Air Conditioning Condenser - How do you replace the condenser? Does anyone have photos, or can you recommend a good manual?

This job requires special tools and training. There is serious personal injury exposure!!!,
The oiling of the system needs to be addressed, the receiver/dryer needs to be replaced, the system needs to be evacuated....etc, etc.
Have a qualified shop do this for you.

2002 hyundai santa fe , what is an open recall, 0pen recall# 089 91b024r3 .9

There is NO open recall on the Santa Fe, However, there is one on the 1999-2004 SONATA (EF) and 2001-2004 XG300/XG350 (XG) vehicles that are registered and operated in specified “salt belt” states may exhibit corrosion damage to the subframe assembly. If specified levels of corrosion damage have occurred as described in this bulletin, replace the front subframe with a new subframe that incorporates additional holes in the upper and lower panels. If a front subframe does not require replacement, add drainage holes and treat the subframe with rust-proofing material.

HOW TO CHANGE OIL ON A 2002 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. IM 19 YRS OLD AND WOULD LIKE TO HELP MY GIRLFRIEND AND CHANGE IT FOR HER. A DETAILED DRAWING POINTING OUT THE OIL CAP AND THE DRAINAGE AND FILTER FROM...

Lift your Hyundai Santa Fe using a jack and then place the car on jack stands. If you don't have jack stands, drive the car onto a set of wheel ramps.
Pop the hood and remove the dipstick and oil filler cap. The dipstick is near the front engine compartment with the oil filler nearby.
Gather an oil drip pan, a 17-mm wrench, oil filter wrench, cleaning cloths and a new oil filter. Slide under your Santa Fe.

Change the Oil
  • Locate the oil filter and oil drain plug underneath the car. The drain plug is on the bottom of the oil pan, and the filter is to the side of the oil pan.
  • Remove the oil drain plug using the 17mm wrench. Pull the plug out quickly and let the oil drain for 10 to 15 minutes. Check the gaskets and threads for damage. Replace these components, if necessary.
  • Take off the oil filter using an oil filter wrench. Dump the old oil into the oil drip pan and put on the new oil filter. Tighten the oil filter by hand, and then replace the oil drain plug using the wrench. Clean off the excess oil.
  • Go under the hood and add oil. Turn on the engine and check the oil pressure gauge to make sure it rises. Let your Santa Fe run for a minute.
  • Lower your Hyundai Santa Fe and turn off the engine. Take an oil reading on the dipstick. If the oil level isn't at full, add a bit more oil.

How do I change a desiccant bag in a 2003 Hyundai

You have to change the entire condensor assembly. The desiccant bag (Receiver/Dryer) is an integral part of the condensor.

Does this condensor look like the one on your 2003 Santa Fe? If so, there you go. If not, let me know.

Airconditioner of a 2001Hyundai Santa Fe

There is an EPA requirement that the amount of refrigerant required be indicated somewhere on the unit.

There are no moving parts that would cause a leak, but leaks can usually be found by looking for oily hoses, connectors, fittings, and coils, etc. The oil coats the inside of the system parts, and the leaking refrigerant will tend to push the oil out through the leak.

Unless you know the unit is low or out of refrigerant, then look for any cooling problems to be compressor related.
