The descriptions isn't detailed enough to give a good solution but "whirring" that is directly controlled by engine RPM / steering could end up being belt, alternator, waterpump power steering pump related. Do any other functions of the vehicle display erratic behavior?

Well i couldn't really tell if the noise increase with rpm/speed because of how loud my engine/exhuast is. But its a constant whirring noise... When I turn on the air (i say air because I don't have ac, have it removed) the sound decreases a little so which less me to believe that it may very well be something with alternator... Any input would be much appreciated.thank u

Starter making whirring noise.

When you say it won't start you mean it won't crank, right ?

If you have a duralast starter from auto zone, that may be the problem.
Aftermarket brand starters and alternators can be lemons sometimes.
A mechanic would check for voltage at the starter with the key in the on and start positions. Also check the ground connections.
Its possible the starter is not getting full battery voltage for some reason.

Tomorrow I will be taking my vehicle (2002 Alero) in to have the trans. oil changed. Because the transmission on this car is "sealed" how would I beable to know if the fluild was actually...

best way to know is to remove the dipstick tube tonight and look at the color of the fluid-use a white paper towel and wipe it, and save it-tomorrow, do the same thing, using a different location on the same towel to wipe-if changed, the spot from tomorrow should be a bright red as opposed to todays, which will be a darker red (or even brown). You can also inspect the trans pan-it outside should be immaculate, since it was dropped and cleaned as part of the service. You can ask that they save the old filter for you to inspect, and even ask tomorrow if they cleaned the magnet in the trans pan-that is a basic thing that they should have done, and you should be able to judge what was done by their reactiion to this question. Continue to check the level (when fot) for the first few days, and put a piece of cardboard under it for a couple of days in case it leaks.

I am hearing a noise, like a whirring sound that speeds up with the acceleration and makes no noise when in park. Does this sound like cv joint trouble?

a whirring sound can be a bearing on a component under the hood.(power steering pump, alternator, idler pulley bearing, etc),it can also be a serpentine belt from a worn belt or belt tensioner a cv joint won`t make a whirring sound(it will cause a clunking noise or a vibration).

In the morning my son drove at his school , when he get on the park, saw transmision fluid under the car. My question is how can lost all trasmission fluid the car?. My car is a taurus 2000.My son said...

This leak could be from another vehicle that was parked before your son arrived , OR- the transmission cooler lines are leaking, due to rust. This is the most probable cause. These steel lines either keak at the fittings or sometimes the steel lines rust out causing a leak..
I reccommend that you take the car to your repair shop for a further inspection..

Braking, the vehicle shutters. also, whirring noise at low rpm

Could be a fan clutch. It allows the fan to "slip" up to speed and can make a wind noise untill it gets up to speed.

Hi...my name is Keith...if you will pull a spark plug out and see if you are getting spark to the spark plug..and if you are getting spark... you can rule out the ignition....and i would look towards the fuel pump... and a fuel pump relay(if it is fuel injected)

Having problems with turning over......

do you mean engine rolled over or cranked over and would not start?or is it that the starter would just click? or did starter sound like it was wineing and you had to keep on and off the key until it findley started? if any of your answers to thies questions is yes (except first question) its time for a new starter. as far as the grinding noise don't worry about it, that's what makes me believe its the starter. install new starter, problem solved.

STARTING PROBLEM

If it is a really fast "whir" sound then it sounds like your starter has a dead spot.
