2005 Nissan Sentra - all of a sudden from out of no where I came out of the grocery store and the ignition turns but does not start! My check engine light comes on and off and has for the last yr and half but I took it in 6 mo ago and the fixed the sensor and replaced the fuel injection system. No problems since til today. The battery is good and the alternator belts are running smoothly. What could it be? FYI small pin leak in power steering but they said it was too small to do anything with it and that the car was fine.

Most likely the starter is faulty. It could also be the starter relay or damaged/ loose/ corroded wires to the starter. Also, I'm not sure who told you the power steering leak was "too small to do anything with", but if there is a leak in the pump, steering rack, cooler or a hose, no matter how small, it can and should be repaired. If the check engine light comes on anytime other than when you first start the car, there is a problem and the car should be hooked up to a scan tool to find out what's wrong. It may be time to find a new mechanic.

My nissan sentra 1.8 has to turn over several times before it starts. what could be causing this?

Have a fuel pressure leak down test performed, the check valve in the fuel pump may have failed and this causes longer cranking times.

My nissan sentra 1.8l it cranks but will not start' after scanning there were no fault code .please help me to solve the problem thank you.

Pull off one of the plug wires and put a screwdriver in it, crank the engine and see if it is getting a spark. If so, pull off one of the fuel lines feeding the engine and check fuel pressure. If you are not getting fire, possible causes are: crankshaft sensor, ignition module, other causes I could determine after these are checked. Try to check these and if you need further help, I will help you as much as I can. If you are getting spark, and fuel, the main cause would be timing. Hope this helps

Where is the reset for 2007 nissan sentra fuel pump

How To How to Reset the Computer on a Nissan Sentra When the check engine light illuminates on the dash in a Nissan
Sentra, it is an indication that the computer has recognized a problem within its sphere of influence. Once the problem has been addressed and corrective action completed, the computer can be reset by erasing the existing codes.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Code scanner
  1. Step 1 Insert the code scanner's connector into the OBD port located under the dash to the right of the steering column.
  2. Step 2 Turn the ignition key to the run position. Make sure the engine is off.
  3. Step 3 Press the button for "Read" on the code scanner. Within less than 1 minute, the scanner will display all failure codes that are stored in its memory.
  4. Step 4 Write down the failure codes displayed by the scanner. Cross-reference the codes with the code sheet that comes with the scanner. The codes are displayed with a letter followed by a four-digit number code. Deciphering these codes by cross-referencing them with the code sheet offers an explanation of the failure.
  5. Step 5 Turn the key off. Correct the failure so that the computer can be reset.
  6. Step 6 Turn the ignition key on, keeping the engine off. Press the "Erase" button on the scanner. Start the vehicle and allow it to run for 5 minutes. Watch for the check engine light to come back on. If it does, the problem has not been corrected. If it stays off, the problem has been successfully resolved.

Engine light stays on, sometimes car doesnt start up on the first turn of the ignition, and idle goes low

Get the engine light scanned to see what the error is, it all may be related.

I change plugs every 2-3 months, sevice light is on, but no stored codes. 2005 nissan sentra 1.8 engine

You shouldnt be changing your plugs that often. You probably have a short with your service light. Have an electrician check it out.
