My 94 Jeep was doing the same thing i thought it was everything from ignition spark to the fuel system, but here it turned out to be a blown fuse for the security system...it enables the anti-theif an shuts off the fuel after it is started...check the fuse in the passenger side panel....hope this works for ya like it did for me, i felt dumb after i put 300$ into it an find out it was a simple fuse

try checking fuel pressure,or if fuel filter is clogged

Hard starting

Do a fuel pressure leak down test, the test port is located on the fuel rail that supplies fuel to the injectors on the top of the engine, the pressure should not drop more than 5 PSI after the engine is shut down, make sure the fuel gauge (special tool) is not leaking at the schrader port connection. If the fuel pressure leaks down right away you need to replace the fuel pump inside the fuel tank, it has a defective pressure check valve. I understand you can buy a universal test gauge from most parts stores for about $20.00 that hooks up to the above mentioned test port.

You'll need to check the fuel pressure w/ a gauge you can get at most auto parts stores. Not sure what it should be for your SUV but probably in the 40 psi to 60 psi. It should also hold that pressure when shut off. If you do replace the fuel pump, strongly recommend that you use an OEM part as aftermarket ones while cheaper tend to have a short life.

My 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.2L is very difficult to start if it has not been run in the previous 6 hours. Replaced ignition coil but didn't solve the problem. After sitting overnight it

Low fuel pressure.
You need to check the fuel pressure on the first crank and watch it as it is running.
Requires a special gauge.
If it were just a starting problem I would say it could be a pump relay, but not if it runs rough for 5 min.
Might be a dirty filter or problem in the tank.

My 95 jeep grand cherokee limited is shutting down while driving suddenly. It looks like it happends after more than 30 min driving or when it runs in the same speed for several min. Any one have any idea...

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Symptoms may include no start, rough idle, long crank times, driveway die outs or erratic fuel pressure. A new fuel pump has been released which delivers improved performance. This pump should be used whenever fuel pump failures are encountered.
DIAGNOSIS:
Basic fuel system diagnostics should be used as outlined in the appropriate service manual. A brief recap of the basic diagnostics follows:
Fuel pressure specification - 49 psi - plus or minus 5 psi.
High fuel pressure indicates problems with the fuel pressure regulator. Refer to the service manual for regulator diagnosis. Do not replace the fuel pump for high pressure.
Low fuel pressure - Low pressure could indicate a pump problem or it could indicate a plugged fuel filter or restricted fuel line or no fuel in the tank. Be sure to check these items before replacing the fuel pump.
Fuel System Leak down - When checking fuel pressure be sure to check the integrity of the system after shut down. With the fuel pressure gauge connected, shut the engine off and observe the pressure gauge. The system should maintain at least 24 psi for five minutes after shut down. If the pressure bleeds off quicker, it could indicate that an injector is leaking down or that the pressure regulator is leaking. This can lead to driveablity problems and require further diagnosis.
NOTE: IN RARE CASES WHERE MULTIPLE FUEL PUMP FAILURES HAVE OCCURRED ON THE SAME VEHICLE, A BUILD UP OF RESIDUE MAY HAVE ACCUMULATED ON THE INSIDE OF THE FUEL TANK. THE PRESENCE OF THIS RESIDUE IS NOT EASILY IDENTIFIABLE. THE RESIDUE CAN PASS THROUGH THE IN TANK FILTER AND CONTAMINATED THE PUMP ROTOR. IF MULTIPLE FAILURES HAVE OCCURRED WITH NO OBVIOUS INDICATION OF THE CAUSE, CONSIDERATION SHOULD BE MADE TO REPLACING THE FUEL TANK TO AVOID FUTURE PROBLEMS. PARTS REQUIRED:
I would start here and look at your fuel system closely

My 1994 grand cherokee 4x4 6 cyl. Will start for like 5 sec and then shut right off. i have no idea what the problem is. i think it might be the security system. How do i rip out the security system?

are you sure you have fuel pressure ? alarm systems usually kill the starter circuit not the ignition you need to put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail you should have about 40-45 pounds of fuel pressure . hope this helps

I am having a problem with my 05 jeep cutting off at slow speeds and jerking like its isnt getting any gas.. could you please help

A new fuel filter should be tried along with a bottle of fuel injector cleaner/water-in-the-gas remover. Then check for low fuel pressure at the fuel test port (a tire valve looking device) that is located on the fuel rail which runs over the injectors--the pressure should be in the 40 to 50 PSI range. If very low, try a new fuel pump.

1993 jeep wrangler 4.0. Jeep stalls when accelerator is slightly engaged. sometimes hard to start after this. sometimes starts right up. already replaced crank position sensor. What else could be wrong?...

The fuel pressure you listed is to low,
The regulator should keep the pressure down to at least 45psi,removing the vacuum from the regulator it should spike to at least 55-60.
Did it start and run better with the hose off?
replace the fuel filter first, then check the pressure again.
