You might want to inspect the distributor cap. Often times moisture gets under it and prevents spark from connecting. You may not even be able to see the crack that well. Remove it and look up inside it while holding it up to a bright light source. If you can see any light what so ever it needs replaced. Take your time looking, a pinhole leak will do it. Hope this helps.

Need to know the firing order


For all Dodge V8 truck engines, the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. For all Dodge V6 truck engines, the firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2. For Dodge inline 6 cylinder engines, the firing order is For all Dodge 4 cylinder engines, the firing order is 1-3-4-2 All dodge distributors rotate clockwise.


look at your distributor cap while standing on the driver's side of the vehicle.
Start at number 1, which is labelled on the cap, and go
clockwise

Too tight.....the the torque for the 4 banger is 72 in lbs

the 6 cylinder is only 80 in lbs.

Any tighter and you start to squeeze the gaskets to where they will leak.

Check the distributor cap, u can have a very fine crack that allows moisture to enter on damp days and make starting difficult. Look inside cap w/ good lighting, u can usually see it if u look carefully. Let me know what u find.
