This is a transmission fault code and has to with the governor pressure solenoid. First thing to check is to make sure you have the proper level of transmission fluid and that it is not dirty. If these check out OK then you need to have a transmission tech look at it.

I'm having problems with my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It started running pretty rough and would act like it's was skipping while accelerating and if I gave it to much gas the engine would make a poppi

there are several reasons for missfires. Start from cheapest parts. Spark plugs first. Then check for compression by making some body to do compression test. it is simple thing to do. 2000 model has elecronic ignition so keep in mind that ignition coils can casue such problems too. If it starts normally and gets sluggish and erratic after warmups, if you smell a funny thing at exhaust you may have broken pre(front) lambda o2 sensor even (if there is no check engine light)

In worst case there can be burnt exhaust valves which is unlikely for me becasue that engine is a strong design.

2 I think this second one may mean Possible causes
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty Pressure Control Solenoid
- Pressure Control Solenoid harness is open or shorted

Pressure sol control / transmission relay circuits code po748 2002 dodge ram sport 5.9 V8

Hi.............P0748 being a pressure control solinoid ,elecrical, to me a means that there is an electical problem in the solinoid circuit or the solinoid it self maybe burnt out. The pressure control solinoid is in the trans. On chrysler the solinoids are duty-cycle and controlled by the P.C.M. power train control module which is the same as E.C.M. . A test has to be performed to determine the problem. .

Po748 can tcc solenoid or vehicle speed sensor cause this code

One question? Did you clear the codes out of the system with a scanner? I believe that's the only way to do it now, unlike the old days when you could rest by disconnecting the battery. Hope this helps.
