Check the track bar bushings for play in them, also check to make sure that the sway bar links are not broken, also if the rear axle has leaf springs for suspension it then could be the rear shackle bushings.

Will 96 rear end work in a 99 grand cherokee

A 96 Grand Cherokee rear end is not compatible with the 99. The Grand Cherokee changed body styles in 99, and among other things, the bolt pattern for the wheels changed.

I have 2004 jeep and back electric window will not go up. also, everytime i go over a bump in road i have a loud knocking sound in the front end.

Loud knocking may be due to a broken front sway bar end link, common problem on Grand Cherokees. Rear window not going up could be a bad window motor, switch or wiring. Those will have to be checked out to determine exactly what it is.

There is a swaying in thr rear end of my 99 jeep grand cherokee Laredo

Unlike other Cherokees, you have coil springs in the rear, not flat springs.
Coils tend to react more to side loads and will therefore sway on turns more than a flat spring will. You need to look at the attachment arm bushings and mounts to make sure nothing is worn or loose.
Its very likely that the only thing wrong is that your shock absorbers are worn out. From the outside even ones that have failed don't look bad as the failure is internal.
When buying shocks, get the best ones you can afford. they last longer and control movement better. The more expensive ones tend to have larger pistons and better internal valving that translates into better control and longer life. If you carry heavy loads, I'd consider getting "coil over" shocks that also offer a bit more load carrying capacity.

Sway bar

Incredibly easy. Two bolts hold each sway bar bracket to the frame, the bushing is inside. The end links are a bit trickier, however, not rocket science.

1999 Jeep grand cherokee limited - irregular idle

I don 't know if I can solve it, but I had a very similar problem on a 2002 Grd Cherokee Laredo. It ended up being the Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS). Unfortunately the part alone is about $125 and and total installed cost was about $250. It would idle high at first, then gradually work it self down to a normal idle. Once it was warmed up it it would have an up and down RPM during idling, and several times it stalled out at intersections. There was also a lot of transmission clunking going on when you put it in reverse or drive.
Runs like a dream now. Clunking is gone and idle speed is just right.

Suspension?

have the sway bar looked at in the back. if it is loose or broken it will sway. it is the bar connecting the two rear wheels. there are upgrade kits that offer a heavier bar. Also check rear tire pressure. the tires will roll out if too low a pressure is aboard.

Rear Suspension noise on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8

Check sway bar. On some models as suspension sags, sway bar outer ends will contact the body, leaving a mark or dent just above the end, causing a bang over bumps. Only way to correct this is to change springs or add a spring lift.
