My 94' 318IS shut off

My 94' 318IS shut off the other day and the transmission light came on. Then I drove it back to my friends house and it would shut off and turn on as I was driving. Then I disconnected the battery and it has run ok since then with no transmisson light on. Is my problem electrical?

- i seen a video on you tube with some one with the same problem but theres is stuck on and when its on it seems to have no power correct? well the other day in the rain i was messing around with my 318 IS i was powerbraking and let go and went sideways down the road but anyway my car is automatic and i shfted it back into drive and the light came on and my car had no power i also did the same thing turn the car off three or four times it wne toff and has not came back on the bmw has a hydrolic transmission so my guess would be maybe it heated up and it needs to cool down if it hasnt came back on i wouldnt worry about it - Guest
