Likely something is jammed in the striker plate in the trunk. You will need to take the back seat out (seat back) and shine a flaslight in the trunk to verify.

The trunk release lever will not open the trunk. the trunk will open when the key is used but not by the release lever.

So, when somebody else pull the cable, do you see the latch move back and forward from the trunk? There is nothing complicated about a manual cable, it just pull the cable and there should be a reaction to it. If there is no action from the latch, no movement at all, then the cable is just broken. If there is a little movement, not enough to pull the latch to open the trunk, you still need to replace the cable.

My battery is dead and I have keyless entry and I need to open my car or trunck so i can get a jump... I have a regular key but have no clue to where it goes being that they have no key entry on the...

Hello: On the rear bumper, driver side lower portion you will see a square which you can flip open with the key you have. Once open you will see a lock cylinder, insert the key and turn. That will open the trunk. Inside the trunk you will see a handle, pull it and it will open the drivers door. That should do it.

My gas cap and trunk wont open. I need gas. Te button on the console won't release the gas cap to open or the trunk. Audi TT 2002.

Take your key and go to the drivers door, make sure the door is unlocked by pulling on the handle, open and close the door. Insert the key and "lock" the door, double check that it is locked by pulling on the handle. Insert the key and "un-lock" the door, use the handle to open the door and now press the fuel door key and it should open, same for trunk release button.

Audi's are a strange breed, sometimes you just need to "re-set" some stuff. But in the future if you lock the car with the key, the fob will unlock the car but the three buttons in the console will not work, the fob will function correctly.

I hope this helps.

1997 Toyota Camry Trunk Handle Broken!

You could get one from the dealer or got to an auto recycler. As for changing it, just pull off the trim piecs at the bottom of the door opening, push the carpet out of the way, un hook the cables and remove the bolt securing it. You may have to remove the drivers seat to get a little mor room to work.

Cannot open doors to 1994 bmw 740 il with key. battery is dead and located under rear seat. key will open up trunk.

hi jim, try lifting up on the driver's outside door handle slowly while turning the key in the unlock position. The lock cylinder design has a cam on it that usually will catch while lifting the handle. if you have no luck on the driver's side, try the same thing on the passenger's side. be patient, it make take a few tries before the door unlocks.

How do rear seats fold down on 2008 malibu

Open the trunk and pull one or both of the
handles located on the upper part of the
trunk opening. The driver’s side handle will
open the larger side of the seatback. The
passenger’s side handle will open the smaller
side of the seatback.

I cant open my trunk, where is there a positive connection under the hood?

If you have the key for your vehicle, then to manually open the trunk:

[1] insert the key into the trunk key hole
[2] turn the key 45 degrees
[3] press in to manually unlock

This is important if you lose power and need to access the battery (via the trunk).

1997 Toyota Corolla Trunk Release not working...

The trunk release cable runs along the inside edge of the car, under the carpet, on the driver side. It then snakes up over the metal under the rear seat, and then into the trunk, running along the trunk hinge/arm, driver's side. You will need to remove the rear seat bottonm and the seat back, and pull the carpet back on the driver's side to see the cable... More below:
-------> Before you do all of that, unbolt the latch handle and see if the plastic tab on the latch that holds the cable is broken; the cable release wires rarely fail, I replace handle assemblies regularly, never a cable. Maybe you just need a handle assby. Feel free to comment back if you need more assistance; Thanks for choosing FixYa.
