Question about 2005 Suzuki Forenza

Open Question

My 2005 Suzuki Forenza is making a high pitched squealing noise and the only time it doesn't is when I have my foot on the gas pedal. What is this? I brought it in to be fixed 5 days ago. Got my car back yesterday and was told it was the vacuum hose and intake gasket. I drove the car home and the same noise was still there. It wasn't making that noise a week ago. What could this be?

SOURCE: 06 Suzuki Forenza make a loud clicking noise.

Your car is from 2006 how come it needs a timing belt ( do you drive 20K per year? ). What is wrong with the drive belt. The sound from belt is not a clicking noise.
Any way try to avoid that dealer. What a baloney.

When you start the car, open the hood try to identify where the noise comes from.

1-If it comes from the top engine, open your oil cap, to see if oils splattered from mechanical movements. Usually oil is not enough then it takes time to travel to the cam shaft and the lifters that why after making noise a while then the engine becomes quite since it gets lubricated. How long have you been from last oil changed?

2-If it comes from the front engine try to identify if it comes from Power steering or AC. Check Power-steering fluid to see it it needs filled up. Check this before starting the engine.
Try to turn on AC to see if the noise more or less so you can determine the AC clutch is bad.

Hope you can find the source for a good fix.

SOURCE: 2005 Suzuki Forenza timing belt breakage

hi im not sure on this particular model but there a few easy ways to check.... take the spark plugs out, remove the broken belt, shine a light down the holes and look for dammdge, if you cant see anything you can turn the crank but it is a tricky job because you can ruin the engine so if your unsure get a mechanic to do it.. or your other alternative is to remove the head and have a look but you will need a new head gasket kit, timing belt and tensioner kit etc .. it is important that you do not turn the engine over when the belt is disconected in any way UNTIL you know for sure that valves wont hit pistons, even bending a valve will not be very noticable but when its all back together you will deffinately notice and will have to pull it all back apart

Squealing noises are more apt to be from belts, not mechanical parts. It doesn't necessarily have to be "a belt" per se, as the noise could, in part, be caused by an idler pulley. Open the hood and try to locate the sound. FYI I have posted the complete 2004 Forenza Service manual on FIXYA. Do a site search with those key words.

Troubleshooting for stalling on 2005 Suzuki Forenza

vast checks. really!
EGR stuck open?
but can save the stall, with a fast right foot action,
using the wrong cap with a non suz, missing vacuum breaker will stall the pump an then engine.
stalls can be.
1: engine issues, (compression bad on one or more cyl.)
2: bad spark
3: bad fueling. in that order.
if compression good and spark at all cylinders are good.
the you check fueling.
1: are spark plugs dry , white or black carbon, and/ or dripping in fuel?
reading spark plugs works on all gas engine. 100 years span. to now.
Google how to read spark plugs.
this engine is EFI. and as such can do lots of things.
leaking injectors. clogged , or dead.
low fuel pressure.
too high fuel pressures.
at the least

My 2005 suzuki grand vitara XL7 brakes squeal everytime i come home and pull up slowly. We have had them checked and the mechanic said they are fine just had alot of dirt in them that could be causing

Rusty disc rotors can sometimes cause this issue, dirt as well, but often times it can be caused by riding your brakes, the braking friction material becomes hard if heated enough, resulting in a high pitched squeek or squeal as you pull up, this doesn't effect the normal operation of the brakes, and in the cases of "high performance" brake replacements that use harsher friction materials, is part of normal operation.

Car is making a high pitch squeal some times when driving, noise gets worse when I take foot off the gas pedal. Also has odor of boiled eggs at times. Is this a tranny problem or emission system failure or...

The high pitch squeal ia most likely the serpentine belt on the front of the engine you can buy some belt dressing from the part store and put it on there and fix that or some soap will work also, the belt may also need to be tightened. As for the egg smell if it smells like eggs it's the catylitic converter doing it's job and is normal, although you should not be able to smell it inside the car when driving you may have an exhaust leak and could be very dangerous carbon monoxide exposure.
