Check the fuse first. The fuse must be in the main fuse box. The position and function of the fuses is normally marked on the inside of the fuse box cover and also in the owner's handbook. If you don't come right with these, work your way through the fuses looking for a blown one. To ease your search the horn fuse it should be around 30 amps.

The horn in my 2003 pontyiac grand am wont stop honking

you will find a fuse labeled HORN and a relay labeled HORN in the under hood fuse flock. Pull either of those to stop the horn from blowing.

If you need info on how to fix it i can help. You will need a test light or a voltmeter.

You can also try swapping the horn relay with another relay in the fuse block that is the same. If the horn works normally than the relay is bad and will need to be replaced.

How to fix the horn. or rewire a horn. the previous owner stated that he took out the fuse for the horn because it would not stop beeping . I need the horn to work to pass safety

Hi,
Apparently the previous circuit of horn is shorted making work all time.
Just check entire wires, relay and horn button in your car for shorted and have them fixed.
Otherwise you need to install new set of horn system ( horn button, wires and relay)

hey, im not sure what your car is like but if you do not have an airbag steering wheel then you can just pull the horn pad straight off and replace it... see if that works but remember its illegal to not have a horn technicaly so its best to fix it quick

Horn stopped working, fuse and relay is good

With test light check voltage at horn assembly on both wire's, could only have one, horn assembly itself could be ground, have some one press horn button while checking, if there is voltage replace horn assembly, if no voltage horn pad at streeing wheel bad. that's being fuse and replay are good.
