I am not 100% positive, but I believe, like many other vehicles, we'll have to take the door panel off to access the plug wire for the power mirror. I know that there is a removable plastic cover outside, under the mirror, where you remove two of the three bolts holding the mirror on the door. The third bolt is removed from the inside by removing a stick-on circular cover over the hole in the door frame that gives you access to the third bolt. However, you still have to figure out how to get the cable on the power mirror out, which I have not figured out how to do yet.

SOURCE: Installing replacement side mirror on 2007 Subaru Forester

yes... you'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you can access the bolts holding the mirror on and disconnect the wiring harness as well..

if you open the door you can pop off 2 pieces of plastic that reveal 3 bolts. 3/16 (i think)socket works and you will need an extender. but it is literally 3 bolts and that is it. i bought the part from a dealer and it was $40 and they wanted $90 for install. took me 15 min.

Open the hatch and locate the 2 plastic covers, behind the tail light area on the inside panel. Remove these covers and the nut (8mm) behind them to access the light assembly. Pull lightly on the light assembly to remove, then replace the bulb.

You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

For a permanent fix, you'll have to take the door panel apart, drill a hole through the handle and the big plastic door mechanism inside, and then insert a cotter pin. I found out how to do so via a nicoclub.com forum, but the critical photos of the operation seem no longer to be available there.

Try these two sources:

The first link is my notes in Evernote, including the photos from Nicoclub, while the second link goes to the Nicoclub forum on the problem, where at the end someone has added a photo showing you exactly where to drill the holes in the door mechanism.

2007 Nissan Versa. Trying to replace mirror. What tool to use to release mirror from mount on windshield.

If you have a small screwdriver, you can slide it up through a slot at the bottom of the mirror anchor pad that is attached to the windshield. Make sure you push it up far enough to release the lock. The mirror should simply slide upward from the pad.

Nissan versa gas treatment

I agree with Gary, it's not likely the regulator. More than likely it is the check valve in the fuel pump that doesn't hold the pressure after the car is shut off. Adding a treatment won't do anything but drain your wallet.
