With cars that have fuel injection, the most common failure after replacing the fuel filter is the fuel pump. On most vehicles the pump is located in the gas tank. This is not a do it yourself job unless you have a full garage, an extra car and some mechanical expertise.

05 explorer. Rough idle, sluggish when accelerate. Replaced spark plugs, fuel filter nd egr value

You should check the fuel pressure and, if there is a check engine light, get the vehicle scanned for codes. The fuel pressure should run about 50 to 60 PSI when running and should hold pressure after the engine is off for a period of time.

It reads codes po300 po300 po522 but it runs perfect sometimes I need to press fuel pedal to start?

code p 0300 refers to random/multiple cylinder misfires detected ===causes spark plugs ---HT leads ---injector/s--ignition coil/s---low compression---wiring
code p 0522 refers to engine oil pressure sensor/switch--low voltage ===causes wiring short to ground ---engine oil pressure sensor /switch---ECM
for the first code having to alter the accelerator position ( which tells the ECM to let in more fuel indicates either a low pressure in the fuel manifold or that the injectors need cleaning
At high way speeds when the engine appears to be running good , it is still possible to have random misfires caused by low fuel pressures and /or dirty injector tips
It would be a good idea to check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge ,then replace the oil pressure sensor/switch

Codes PO300-PO305 TCS and emission lights on, runs OK except sl rough at lower speeds

you have multiple misfire po300 and cylinder 5 po305 misfire.the misfire is causing the rough running. The computer has disabled your traction control. You either have carbon in the EGR which simulates a vacuum leak, bad spark plugs,a leaking intake manifold,or low fuel pressure from a bad pump or clogged filter.
i would start with the spark plugs and fuel filter

2006 VW GOLF TURBO DIESEL 1.9 STARTS UP GOES 5 TO 9 MILES STALLS WAIT 5 MINUTES GO AGAIN AND STALLS

Hi. It would be useful to get a code read and some live data from a decent diagnostic tool. There are quite a few possible causes including, pressure in tank - if the fuel tank can't vent pressure then a vacuum will eventually form stopping fuel getting to the engine, this will cause it to loose power and stall. Then after a few mins the pressure will drop and the process start again, easy test is when the car stalls remove filler cap - if that's the fault there will be an audible hiss and the car will start up again.

part blocked exhaust will have same problems but will more generally cause a lack of power and acceleration.
are there other symptoms? i.e only when conering or only when pulling off or stopping, engine light on/off. Jon

po328 is your knock sensor the po300-304 is your cranksensor change that and most problems will go away remember to disconnect the battery
the knocksensor can still play a roll if the car doesn't want to start each one of thors sensors are at autozone 40.00 bucks to 60:00 covers it

check for trouble codes first. it may have a trouble code to lead you in the right direction. Also check fuel pressure.

Fuel Reg........

Fuel pressure should not drop more than 5 PSI in 24 hours, the symptom you have is more than one issue, first verify the system holds fuel pressure over night, the pressure regulator will not cause this issue, the check valve built into the fuel pump will. On to the dieing concern, clean the idle speed control air bypass valve and the throttle valve with throttle body cleaner spray with the engine running at high idle, spray in at least 1/2 can of the cleaner, next disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then drive for 2 days under varying conditions to "relearn the idle strategy".
