I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer and the high speed fan does not seem to work in Max air conditioning nor defrost settings. The is air flow on the four lower speeds in both air conditioning and defrost. I checked the electrical continuity of the connectors mounted on the evaporator housing inside the engine compartment. The is one 2 terminalconnector and one 4 terminal connector on the evaporator housing. There is a low resistance between all three pairs of connectors. Also checked the AC fuses in the fuse box in the engine compartment and at the drivers left kick panel and all fuses are OK. What could be causing the problem of the high speed fan not working?

- Today I checked behind the glove box (real easy in 2001 Blazer by moving upward a glove box door stop lever on the top left side of the box with the glove box door in open position and pulling the door past the stop. I made certain that all the vacuum lines were properly seated on the vacuum controls. I also removed the cowling around the heater control/radio, etc., and moved the cow,ing out of the way enough to then pull the heater/air conditioning control center (fan speed, temp control, and off, max air, air, heater, defrost controls) out by removing two screws. I removed every electrical connector on the back of the three control switches, checked for any connector contact corrosion, and finding none, replaced all the electrical connectors. I also made certain that all the vacuum lines connecter to the back of the air/heater control switch were properly inserted and there were no leaks.
Although I did not find any apparent problem, the system now works properly and we have the high speed fan working on air Max and Defrost.
