There could be a few things that could cause a miss fire, you stated that you replaced the spark plug and wire and coil, that a good start, but first you need to find out what is causing the skip. is there any spark at #2 cylinder? if there is no spark the only things left to replace are the ignition module and ECM. but i think if you check for spark you will have it, so the next thing to check is to see if there is any fuel at the fuel injector, check this by misting some carb. cleaner or propane over the intake wile the engine is idling if the skip goes away then it is most likely a bad fuel injector, if not then check to see if the cylinder has any compression and i think this is your problem you most likely have a bad valve in the cylinder head and the engine will need to have the head removed and a valve job preformed in order tp restore the cylinder compression.

Ford freestar 2006, cylinder 6 code po301 cylinder 1 misfire

Standing on the passenger side.looking at the engine. Number 1 is the first cylinder on your left. Follow the wire to the coil. unplug it at the coil, lay the end of the plug close to the tip of the cap and start the engine. If there isn't multiple sparks, replace the coil. If there is , replace the plug and or wire. If you still have a misfire after that, do a compression test on number 1 cylinder.

My dad had a similar issue with his 2003 Vibe. Something broke and oil was leaking in to the spark plug and keeping it from igniting properly fusing the cylinder. The car still runs but with one less cylinder, talk to your dealership to fix the issue.

MY 04 KIA SEDONA KEEPS SAYING MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 1 AFTER I'VE CHANGED THE WIRES, PLUGS, COIL PACKS 2X, ALL 4 LIFTERS AND THE FUEL INJECTOR. WHY? AND WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

Fire it up at night and look for arcing in the dark. It may also be nothing more than number 1 plug wire misrouted in a way that inductively picks up energy from one of the other coil packs or cylinders. It should cross other plug wires only once.

My 2000 Ford Expedition Triton motor has a skip. It doesn't do it all the time. The code says #6 misfiring. Is this something we can do ourselves or do we need to take to a shop?

You obviously have access to a code scanner so there are some things you can rule out and possibly fix the concern. Number six cylinder on the Exdedition is on the drivers side of the engine, second cylinder from the front. To do a backyard diagnosis, you will need to clear the code. This is easily done by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes then reconnnecting (I'll explain why). Next, remove the ignition coil on the # six cylinder. It is located on top of the engine and has one connector going to it and one small bolt holding it down, and usually black in color. You are marking it so that you don't mix it up. Now remove the # five ignition coil and install it where number six was. Put the marked coil in the number five hole. Connect both connectors.

Now drive the vehicle and allow the engine lamp to come on or to skip (misfire) a few times. Scan the vehicle for codes. If the code changes to a P0305 or # five misfire, then you know the ignition coil is bad. Replace the marked coil, disconnect the battery again to clear the code, then drive the vehicle and verify the repair. Other concerns could be a spark plug, injector, base engine concern or wiring. Good luck, let me know if you need more help :o)
Coils are the most common cause of misfire, especially after rain.

My check engine is on test show #3 cylinder misfire. spark plug good, coil good, injector good. could vacuum leak be the problem?

sure would have to be a pinpoint leak over that particular cylinder. it would show random misfire. how was the coil checked? if the plug is good try swapping the coil with another cylinder clear the codes and see if it resets to the next cylinder if so the coil pac you just swaped is having a random misfire and needs replaced. hope this helps

What do these trouble codes mean po306 cyclinder misfire detected .how do i fix the problem?

it means you have a misfire on the number 6 cylinder

this could be caused by a whole lot of reasons.

start by inspecting for a bad plug wire if it has them

check for fire on the cylinder with a spark test tool from local part store

if it is a coil-on-plug set-up, check the coil for fire

replace coil/plug wire as needed, replace boot on coil if coil needed, replace spark plugs
