Water builds up on the passenger seat floor when the a/c is running

I have the same problem. Has it intermittently for a few years now. A/C drain has been unclogged MANY times. Water still build up. My mechanics can't figure it out. They think it may be water from the windshield when it rains. But the floor is still quite wet even when it hasn't rained for days. I'm convinced it has something to do with the a/c. I want to take a look under the dashboard, but I have no idea what I'm looking at. Any help or suggestions would be great.

SOURCE: water on floor behind front passenger seat

drill a hole through the floor as a quick fix ,if it gets in let it out ,then check for the leak ,try under the firewall where the AC drain pipe is ,it could be the same pipe for drain water coming in from air intake vents

could be coming from a/c condenser there is a drain hose that is supposed to extend through passenger floor board and allow condenser to drain water while a/c is running. Often times someone has done some work and either knocked hose off or accidentally rerouted it under passenger side carpet and gravity takes water down by seat. hope this helps

Water on floor on driver side front seat

It could be the heater core. Usually it leaks on the passenger side, but it could be running down to the driver side. With you stating it has overheating issues, that's why I think the heater core. If this is the case, usually the whole dash will have to come out.

The passenger side floorboard gets wet =

is it only when the ac is on? there is a pan under the ac unit that has a hole in it to allow the condensation to empty. if that hole gets plugged it could cause the condensation to build up and back into the inside of that car. i unplugged mine and floor stayed dry

Water on back seat floor

It could be caused by blocked sunroof drains. Thats where I'd look first.
Good luck!

2006 mustang water leaking rear floor

Hi , Its leaking water on the passenger rear floor? It could be the heater core leaking and running down the floor board to the rear of the vehical. Do you smell antifreez or see moisture build up on the windshield ? does the car seem more "humid" inside?

Water on rear floor mats. Foot well for left rar passenger fills up with water. Not coming thru door seals or open window. Car does not have sunroof.

check the tops of the inner wheel wells in the trunk or anywhere around them. These cars are known for this. The water will run down to the floor from behind the seat.
