Hi,I can only assume you have had the code extracted and fixed the problem and looking to do a reset only. If you have not fixed the problem the reset wont do any good. That being said, in most all chrysler vehicles, the check engine light can be reset by disconnecting the negative battery cable for at least 15 seconds. However on OBD II (usually 97 and newer) models the light can only be reset with the use of a scan tool. CAUTION : If the stereo in your vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you have the correct activation code before disconnecting the battery cable.

It would cost somewhere from 80 to 150 dollars depending on your area and who you have do the repairs. Its a pretty easy fix so it shouldn't cost much. These sensors are all resistors that give off electrical impulses that are converted into numerical values. The oil pressure sensor converts resistance into an electrical impulse that is converted into a pressure equivalent.

You your oil pressure switch needs to be replaced. It's a pretty simple and inexpensive fix. O/P switch screws into engine with a couple of wires attached.

Instructions
    • 1 Turn your key to the last ignition position (as far as the key will go without starting the engine).
    • 2 Examine the area to the left of your steering wheel to find your DIC control panel. Look closely at the buttons to get comfortable with them.
    • 3 Press the button labeled "Gage Info" several times, until the display screen shows "Oil Life Index".
    • 4 Press and hold the button labeled "Reset" for six seconds. Turn the key back to "Off", and then remove it from the ignition.
    • 5 Re-insert the key and start the engine. The oil life index will be reset; the light will be turned off.

Maintenance reqd light came on at 44,000 miles...why?

It's probably your regular scheduled maintenance (oil change) light. Here's how you can reset that:

1. Turn the key to "on" so the electrical system is fired up (but engine is not running)

2. Set trip planner to "A" trip.

3. Turn key off (no electrical)

4. Hold down trip button, then turn key to "on" so the electrical system is fired up (but engine is not running).

5. "Maint Req" light will blink several times and then go off.

Good luck!

Blinking oil light on 2003 Mazda Protege. Changed oil and oil filter as well as oil sensor. Light still blinks when the car is idled up.

You need to reset your change oil warning light. To do this, turn the ignition key to on but do not turn over the engine. Then rapidly push down the gas pedal three times. This will reset the system and turn off the blinking light. Then when you drive another 3000 miles, that light will once again tell you it is time to have your oil changed. J.

I have a 2002 Maxima 6 Speed Manual Trans. Under Heavy Acceleration the check engine light blinks several times and then goes off and stays off during normal driving. The light seems to come on as I hit...

U have an ignition related problem, have the system tested for the trouble code that is stored in memory any time the check engine light comes on to determine what is causing this issue. check engine lights have nothing to do with oil level or pressure, they indicate electronic control problems with the engine, trans or emission system.

O/D light blinking

have your trans oil checked it is telling you that something is not right
most cars dont have a trans oil check light so they use the OD OFF light as a warning
check the oil in it i bet you it is low
