Disconnect the battery cables from the battery, wait about 30 minutes, then reconnect the cables. This should reboot the computer.

There is no need to disconnect the battery, to unbolt a throttle body

Also once the battery cable is disconnected your data & check engine,
    lights are gone.

Have no idea why people suggest several minutes up to 30 min.

Take it off,put it back on. You have to try these things to learn

Your not working with Window 7, it is a motor vehicle processor, not
a computer, even though referred to as such

2005 gmc xl how to clean throttler body

with the air intake hose off you look into the throttle body you can see the throttle valve that needs cleaning. using a tooth brush and intake/throttle body cleaner, spray the throttle plate and brush it with the brush. make sure you open the throttle and clean the area around and behind the valve until the area is clean and shiny.

Check engine ligth came on and the scanner say throttle body how do I know if the real damage is on the thrttle body or tp sensor

Familiarize yourself with how they work

Then test the TPS

If the Throttle Body is drive by wire, spray the plate
before you buy a $700.00 part, assuming the TACM
is bad (Throttle Actuator Control Motor)

You gave us no codes or what the problems are!!

Your electronic throttle body is bad, this is a very common problem on these cars. Replace throttle body and then if you have scanner clear codes, if you dont have a scanner disconnect your battery for 10 to 20 minutes to reset

2005 Explorer changed EGR valve due to code and now fail safe mode is in and wrench light is on. Vehicle starts but throttle does not work.

Most likely the ETC Fail Safe (Electronic Throttle Control)
Various Codes for the Throttle Body will be present

Before you replace the Throttle Body because of a failed
TACM (Throttle Actuator Control Motor) Spray the throttle
inlet and plate with CRC Throttle Body Cleaner

The Failsafe can also occur from a really bad COP Ignition
Coil spiking the PCM (computer) and coming back on both
sides of the TPS Sensor. You then loose throttle plate
position and thus shut down or go only 6 mph

My Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Light 5.7L\r\ncomes on, what's the problem

I have the same problem. 2004 ram Quad cab with 5.7 hemi. Dealer has replaced throttle position sensor twice, computer once and rebuilt wiring harness twice. Now they say I should trade it in because they don't know how to fix it. It only has 64,000 miles on it. Still under powertrain warranty. The only solution I see is to find a good NON CHRYSLER mechanic and never buy a Dodge again.

Your throttle body likely needs cleaning.

Take the intake hose off and using throttle body cleaner or brake cleaner, spray a rag and use our fingers to clean the gunk off the throttle plate and the contacting area of the inside of the throttle body.

Throttle body just replaced; now runs & idles rough

adjust the TPS, throttle position sensor.

First though, disconnect battery for 1/2 hour. Restart engine and drive for 15 miles while computer relearns changes you made. Will run rough for this period.
